Clothing must adapt to the changes of natural climate. It is clearly pointed out in Huangdi Neijing that eating and drinking clothes are also suitable for cold and warm, cold without sorrow and summer without sweat. According to the climate all the year round and the weather changes at four o'clock a day, adding clothes when cold, reducing clothes when hot and changing clothes frequently are important health preservation methods.
First, change clothes in time during the Spring and Autumn Period
Most of China is located in the north temperate zone, with four distinct seasons: warm in spring, hot in summer, cool in autumn and cold in winter. Among them, spring and autumn are in the transition period from cold to hot, from snowy winter to breezy spring, from scorching summer to cool autumn, the temperature changes greatly, so it is especially necessary to be careful when changing clothes.
Xu Chunfu's "Complete Collection of Ancient and Modern Medical Skills" says: In spring, the sun in winter is gradually spreading, so it is appropriate to spread it along the sun. However, the weather is different, the spring breeze is strong, you can't take off your cotton-padded clothes, you are afraid of the wind, and you are easy to catch a cold. Just entering the spring, the sun is the spirit, and the weather is not warm yet. If you cut clothes too fast, you will catch a cold easily. As the new book "Providing for the Aged in Qin Shou" points out, when the weather gets warmer, clothes should be gradually reduced, and people should not be reduced, which makes people catch cold. Even in the vernal equinox, the climate changes greatly. As the saying goes, a child's face changes three times a day in spring, which is a true portrayal of the spring climate. After sunrise in the morning, the spring breeze warms up, and at noon, people are prone to sweat after a little activity; In the afternoon, the sun sets, the temperature drops again, and the cold air attacks people. The temperature difference between day and night can reach10℃ 20℃. When wearing clothes at ordinary times, it is recommended to take a coat with moderate thickness with you. Wear a coat in the morning and evening when the temperature is low to keep warm and keep out the cold. You can take it off at noon and afternoon when the temperature rises to avoid sweating. The ancients believed that spring clothes should be put on before and after the Dragon Boat Festival, and there was a proverb among the people that cotton-padded clothes were given only after eating zongzi on the Dragon Boat Festival to illustrate the objective law of this climate change. Now, with global warming, the temperature in most parts of China rises rapidly in spring, and it has already entered the summer after the Dragon Boat Festival, especially in the southern region. However, we should understand the meaning of Sun Simiao, that is, we should wait until the weather is completely hot and the temperature difference between morning and evening is not too big before taking off our thick clothes. For the old, the weak and the sick, we should keep our clothes warm and change them later.
Autumn wind starts, leaves fall, and the temperature drops gradually after autumn. There is an autumn rain and a cold rain, and the temperature drops once every rain. Therefore, clothes should be added in autumn. But just after the sunny summer, the human body's ability to keep out the cold is still strong, and the addition of clothes should be slow, which is also conducive to the cultivation of cold tolerance in winter. There is a famous saying in the Book of Songs that it is July in the lunar calendar, and it is just autumn, and the weather is still hot. Don't add clothes until the weather really turns cold in September. As the saying goes, the Millennium will not reveal the stuffing, which reminds people that they can start adding clothes in the Millennium. In the late autumn of the first frost, the temperature drops obviously, so you should wear warm autumn clothes. Especially for some people with allergies or people with a history of asthma, we should pay more attention to keeping warm. Because most of them lack the adaptability to climate change, or are allergic to cold air, the cool breeze in late autumn can easily cause upper respiratory tract infection, thus inducing asthma.
In addition, due to the rapid change of temperature in spring and autumn, it is often high at noon and afternoon, and it is easy to sweat after activities. Here, I want to remind you not to take off your clothes immediately after sweating. Cao Tingdong's "Old Heng Yan" pointed out: Sweat in the Spring and Autumn Period, don't undress. Otherwise, moisture will invade the skin, and it will be enough. The reason why you don't take off your clothes in a hurry when you sweat is that your body will vent and sweat holes will open when you sweat. When you take off your clothes in a hurry, you are vulnerable to wind-cold pathogens, and sweat stays in your skin, resulting in diseases such as wind-cold and dampness. The elderly and the weak should pay more attention to this.
