The first city in Guangling, Jiangzuo Famous District —— Recommended places for fun in Gaoyou, an ancient city
Yangzhou is a good place. Gaoyou, the first city in Guangling, is also a good place.

Gaoyou has a history of more than 7,000 years of civilization and a history of building a city in 2243. Known as Jiangzuo Famous District and Guangling Shouyi in history, it is the hometown of Yao Emperor and the birthplace of Yao culture, and an important area of Jianghuai civilization and postal culture. As early as 7000 years ago, our ancestors cultivated land and burned wasteland here. In 223 BC, Ying Zheng, King of Qin, built a high platform and set up a postal kiosk here, hence the name Gaoyou, also known as Qin Post and China Postal City, which is the only city named after postal services in China.

Houyucheng post

A journey of wind and rain, a journey of smoke,

Deva's blue bricks are in front of us.

It's getting late.

Take off your saddle and stay away from the drinking pool.

On the east bank of the canal in the southwest of Gaoyou Ancient City, there is the largest and best-preserved ancient post station in China. The station, named Yucheng Station, was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty (1375) and is a national AAAA-level scenic spot. Yucheng was named after the poem "My hometown is like a bowl" by the beautiful poet Qin Shaoyou. Yucheng Post, which once had more than 100 apartments, is a veritable "five-star hotel". After great changes, there are still more than 50 halls, rooms, kitchens and office buildings.

This is a place where ideas can play a role. Walking through the slate and blue bricks polished by years, riding on the stone horse and boarding the Drum Tower, you can vaguely hear the sound of horseshoes on the post road and the noise of the welcoming boat on the shore. Today, the reception hall, wind and rain wall, Mayintang, Liu Yin Zen Forest and other natural and cultural landscapes have been expanded around this ancient post station. Walking in the post station, my heart will move with it, perhaps touching the feeling of "sending plum blossoms by post", perhaps yearning for the romance of "nothing in the south of the Yangtze River, giving you a spring".

Tower-Zhenguo Temple Tower

Ancient temples are like boats, towers and sails.

Flying seagulls and herons chase the sky.

Climb the steps, dust off,

Brahma's heart is endless.

From Yucheng Post Station, drive north along the east embankment of the canal, cross the second bridge of the canal, and then drive south along the west embankment of the canal. It takes about eight minutes to reach the square on the west side of Zhenguo Temple. Get off and walk across the Purdue Bridge, which is about 30 meters long. It is Zhenguo Temple on the island in the middle of the river.

In the north of the temple, there is a Tang Pagoda, the famous Zhenguo Temple Pagoda, which has seven floors and is the tallest building on the water in the canal. There are only two pagodas in China, and the other is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi. Therefore, Zhenguo Temple Pagoda is also called Wild Goose Pagoda in the south. Enter the tower door, climb to the top of the tower and overlook the railing. On the west is the vast gaoyou lake, and on the east is the quaint Yucheng Post Scenic Area. Bowing down the tower, it is the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal that runs through the north and south like a jade belt. At this time, the clear blue sky overhead, the haunting Sanskrit, and the chaotic state of mind will also be baptized, become quiet, indifferent, and even feel lofty and refined.

Lake-gaoyou lake

The scenery of Zhuhu Lake is just in spring.

The water is clear and the willow color is new.

A short swing will produce small waves,

The long kite is dancing with clouds.

Tingzhou Egrets descend leisurely,

The flowers are faint.

Naturally, everything is fine,

Why wait for the sun to set?

On the west bank of the canal, gaoyou lake, covering an area of 760 square kilometers, crosses the old canal. "Thirty-six lakes are wide in autumn water, and light smoke refers to Gaoyou." It used to be like Qiandao Lake, dotted with dots. Hundreds of years ago, it was the sixth largest freshwater lake in China.

Boating on the lake, you will see white fish, perch and mandarin fish jumping out of the water from time to time, as well as red gulls and egrets flying out of the reeds. All kinds of aquatic plants such as white lotus and green grass make you dazzling and beautiful. The sunset in the West Lake, the fishing boats singing late, the snow waves in the Pearl Lake and the gullies and willows make you even more amazed. When you are on the sparkling Gaoyou Lake, your heart will ripple with the lake, just like ripples, permeating the vast waters.
