Wang Xizhi's Tian Zi Cao Calligraphy
Wang Xizhi's cursive script reads like this:

Take two pairs of four-character groups "He, Tian" and "Zhi, Qu" as an example. The cursive writing is very similar, with little difference. Not to mention ordinary people, sometimes professional calligraphers are hard to tell apart. If we are not sure, it is specious, and once we are wrong, it will make us laugh.

First, the two differences between "He" and "Tian" cursive script:

1, difference 1: the position of the head cross is different.

"and" cursive script: the first is horizontal in the upper right corner, or simplified to a point, such as "Han Ming Daoheng Cao Jue Bai Yunsong" writing:

The cursive script of the word "Tian": the first one is horizontal. See the writing of Tang Sun Guo Ting's Book Score:

The second difference is that the length of the first horizontal line is different.

Sometimes you don't care about the position of the first horizontal line, just look at the length of the first horizontal line to distinguish-

The cursive script of Yu: the head is horizontal and short, as shown in the following figure, and the writing of Tang Sun Shu Pu:

The cursive script of the word "Tian": the head is horizontal, as shown in the following figure, and the writing method of "Tang Sun Shu Pu" is:

Similar to the pair of "harmony" and "heaven", there are also "zhi" and "qu" The difference between these two groups of characters is whether they stand out in the horizontal painting-the horizontal painting is marked with "Zhi" and "Qu"; If it is not prominent, it is one of "harmony" and "harmony".

Second, the difference between "knowing" and "doing" cursive script.

Then, how to distinguish between "knowledge" and "line" which are also the first words on the horizontal painting?

1, almost one, almost nothing.

The word "knowledge" sometimes has one point, two points or a semi-circular arc on the right; See the following Shangyu Post of Wang Jin Xi:

There is generally no dot on the right side of the word "go": for example, the writing of "Wang Jin Xi Zhi's home post":

The right point of the cursive script of "Zhi" is sometimes omitted, which makes it more difficult to distinguish. At this time, the following second method should be adopted.

2. Difference 2: The length of the last stroke is different. In Song of the Grass, it is said that "the length is divided into two parts", which refers to this:

The last one is "knowledge"; The following picture "Wang Jin Xi Zhi, his book post" is written like this:

The last short "walk": As shown in the figure below, "Wang Jinxian Zhi suddenly moved his post" is written as follows:

Third, judge according to the context.

If there is no way to distinguish, distinguish according to the context. In order to better understand the difference between cursive scripts, we'd better know the source of cursive scripts and know why.

Fourth, to understand cursive script, it is best to know the source of cursive script.

Take the source of "Tian" cursive script as an example. The cursive word "Tian" is composed of the first horizontal stroke, the second horizontal stroke, the left stroke and the right stroke of the word "Tian". See Ode to a Teacher in Sui Dynasty.

On the basis of the above writing methods, the writing speed was further accelerated, and a modern cursive writing method was formed, such as Gou's "Health Volume".

The above are the main differences between the two groups of four-character cursive script "He", "Tian", "Zhi" and "Qu", and share the common distinguishing methods, hoping to help cursive lovers.
