At present, arteriovenous fistula has become the most commonly used vascular access in clinical hemodialysis. The advantages of internal fistula are less complications such as infection and thrombosis, long service life, free movement of kidney friends, bathing and even swimming.
It can be said that arteriovenous fistula is the "lifeline" of renal friends on maintenance hemodialysis. Protecting fistula, extending its service life to the maximum, obtaining sufficient blood flow and ensuring effective dialysis effect are the basis for prolonging the life of kidney friends and improving their quality of life. Therefore, experts suggest that friends with hemodialysis should take good care of themselves.
First of all, kidney friends should pay attention to protect their internal fistula, and check the fistula for tremor or vascular murmur 2-3 times a day to avoid fistula blockage. If fistula tremor or vascular murmur disappears and pain is found, you should go to the hospital immediately.
Secondly, keep your arms clean before dialysis and avoid contact with water for 24 hours after dialysis. At the end of dialysis, press the puncture point with sterile gauze ball, then quickly pull out the needle and bandage it with 3cm wide elastic tourniquet. Pressing pressure should be able to touch the pulse without bleeding. Too tight or too long dressing can easily lead to thrombosis.
In addition, 24 hours after dialysis, 20-30 minutes each time, 2-3 times a day, use a hot water bag or hot towel not exceeding 50 degrees Celsius to promote blood circulation, promote needle eye healing, soften blood vessels, prevent arteriosclerosis and vascular stenosis, and prolong the service life of internal fistula.
In addition, elastic wristbands or elastic bandages can be worn during dialysis to compress the dilated part of blood vessels and prevent the formation of aneurysms.
