What does authentic Shaolin mean?
Authentic Shaolin refers to the real ancient Shaolin culture.

Due to the persecution of Shaolin culture by the Qing Dynasty and Yongzheng Dynasty in Shaolin Temple and the fiery temple in 1928, there are very few cultures that have really been handed down from Shaolin Temple, and only the other branch of Shaolin Temple, Yonghuatang, has been distorted and lost.

At present, the so-called kung fu in Shaolin Temple is mostly performance, and some folk martial artists spread some folk performance kung fu to Shaolin Temple.

Really authentic traditional kung fu is rare. One is that there are few people who inherit it, and the other is that there are few people who actually practice traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, because traditional Shaolin Kung Fu is not good-looking and cannot bring development to some people.

The reason why traditional Wushu is not recognized by many people is very simple, that is, Wushu has lost its original flavor. Nowadays, many people and martial arts schools, including Shaolin Temple, a martial arts resort in the civilized world, have turned "martial arts" into "dancing" in pursuit of performance and aesthetic feeling, losing the original intention and taste of martial arts. In recent years, the development of martial arts, the real traditional martial arts has not been greatly developed, and they all tend to perform martial arts. Their movements are as follows: their postures are very open, "opening and closing", "posing, putting on airs" and they are all dead shelves, pursuing competitiveness and performance more. Now Wushu schools also require students to learn Wushu routines stipulated by the state, but these routines are generally not very practical. Many people mistake this performance routine for traditional kung fu, and naturally they don't agree with how practical traditional kung fu is.

Take Shaolin traditional kungfu and Shaolin performance "dance" as examples to talk about my own views:

The shelves of traditional Shaolin boxing are all living shelves, and the traditional Shaolin boxing requires "precision, smallness, softness, softness and cleverness".

The "encouragement" required by Shaolin traditional boxing score has the meaning of continuity, no fixed trend, no beginning and no end. When kung fu reaches a certain level, there is no routine. It is the transformation from tangible to intangible, which is random and random. Has reached the realm of no hands, boxing spectrum says: "If you hit the enemy without a shadow, see his background, you can't do it;" It is not surprising that the hands are powerless. "

In martial arts, rigidity does not mean quickness, and softness does not mean slowness. They are not a concept. The technique of being strong is to follow the trend, be soft on the outside and firm on the inside, be powerless, and have superior strength and fluency. A lot of kung fu, the slower the transition between movements, the easier it is to learn kung fu, which also plays an important role in health preservation. The technology of bone processing will only bring people pain, which is not conducive to people's health. Soft boxing can also be practiced quickly, and it can reach the state of superior martial arts without hands. Practice slowly and gently, but it's not hard, it's not brute force, and it's not a strong technique.

Among them, "small" means that Shaolin's excellent kung fu is a small shelf, "ma bu" or "ma bu" or "ma bu" is a small station, and lunge is also a small lunge, which requires clamping thighs and lifting hips without opening and closing movements. The hind leg of lunge is not pushed straight, always like a spring, leaving room. Ding bu is also a small ding bu, and the front and rear legs are almost glued together. One is imaginary, the other is real, the other is left and the other is right. It seems that it is not just, but it seems to be real and virtual.

Traditional Shaolin boxing "rolls out and rolls in", and the fist rolls first and then rolls. The boxing spectrum says, "Get out vigorously and get in, and get stuck in your hair if you hit hard."

"Bend but don't bend, straight but not straight", Shaolin Boxing said: "Without bending and not straight" requires that the fist should not be too straight, and the legs also have some spare capacity, not a dead force, just like a spring. If it is too straight, it is all one's strength, and there is no force to speak of. Shaolin boxing spectrum cloud: "take the head of the chicken road, there are many apes, and the body is like a dragon;" At the end of the road, the spirit is at the top, and the reality is round; I have the power to hide a thousand pounds, but with my help, I can still fight in an instant. "Whenever one hand comes out, the other hand is placed on the chest side or shoulder side, instead of on the waist side as Shaolin monks perform Yong Yong, so that the chest is open and the hitting range is large, which also loses the meaning of" small "in Shaolin Boxing, because it is not a performance trick. Even if it is placed near the waist, it is placed on the waist or slightly lower, but the hand should be tilted upward, claw-shaped, and has the meaning of rolling upward.

Boxing spectrum cloud: "If you don't loosen your muscles, you won't punch." If the fist is held too tightly, the muscles will be stiff, the qi and blood will not be easy to connect, and the fist will naturally be inflexible. Boxing is like clenching your fist before hitting the target.

The whole body is seven points in the leg and three points in the fist; Four points of attack, six points of return.

Shaolin boxing, if it is a fist or a claw, also shows that the traditional Shaolin boxing is not fancy, but it is not the performance kung fu in many movies and TV series now.

In traditional martial arts, it is required to hold out the chest and pull back, to sink the shoulders and lower the elbows, so that the internal qi naturally sinks smoothly and the footwall is naturally stable.

Nowadays, many martial arts schools hold their chests out and put their fists on their waists, which seems imposing, but they don't know that they have committed martial arts taboos.

The difference between Shaolin traditional kungfu and Shaolin Wushu troupe's performance kungfu is that traditional boxing is based on actual combat, and there is basically no difference in how to practice actual combat, or it is the same as routine. However, performing boxing is not. For example, some boxing methods require that the width of the lunge foot is greater than the shoulder, and the width of the left and right is greater than the shoulder, but this will be inflexible.

In traditional Shaolin boxing, lunge requires the distance between the front and rear feet to be two and a half feet. If you draw a straight line back and forth, the front heel presses the left side of the main line and the tip of the right foot presses the right side of the line. For example, in the left lunge, the toes should be right in front and basically parallel. And grab the ground with five toes, lift the block and abdomen, take root on the soles of your feet and keep your head straight. Mainly waist and abdomen. It is no exaggeration to say that I once saw a Shaolin master practice lunge because his feet and legs are very capable of grasping the ground. I also practiced according to his method for a long time. Although my kung fu has improved, it is still unsatisfactory, and I am still far from being a real master.

For example, lunge push is not an upright push in Shaolin boxing, because the foundation under the foot is not very solid and it is easy to be tripped by the opponent. Shaolin traditional boxing requires using Tian Chan to force opponents to push forward obliquely. Even if my opponent is stronger than me, the right strength can knock him down.

When practicing Shaolin boxing, the hips are closed, not open. When practicing lunge, the hind legs should be slightly buckled inward. Take the left lunge as an example, the tip of the right foot should be tilted to the right, so as to protect the crotch. If it's too open, it's meaningless.

At present, in order to pursue beauty, the Shaolin Temple Wushu Performance Troupe mostly practices straight arms and legs, which simply does not meet the simple requirements of Shaolin. Many people also regard this as the real Shaolin Kung Fu.

Shaolin Performance Boxing shows less internal skill. Too many movements are too mechanical, too hard to grasp, not flexible enough, not through the posture, and the knots are not related to each other, ignoring the importance of waist strength in Wushu.

Some movements of ancient Shaolin Boxing seem very soft, but even softness is soft with rigidity, which is the strength of the whole body, not just the strength of the limbs.

A lot of performance kungfu is too much about competition and performance, and it will naturally bring diseases to the body because of serious physical fatigue and lack of internal training. Extreme exercise is not good for health, nor is it the requirement of the ancients for health preservation. As far as self-defense is concerned, it is not appropriate. Shaolin medicine believes that qi and blood are two-way and inseparable. If qi and blood can't keep up, it will cause qi stagnation and people will get sick. It will cause collateral damage at first. Blood is the shield of qi. When the intensity of our exercise is too overdrawn, it is easy to produce qi stagnation, which is manifested in numbness or even slight trembling where we exercise vigorously. Chen taiji passed on the famous master "~ ~" from the inside out. During an Australian performance, his arm was shaken, causing qi stagnation in his shoulder joint, which led to joint stiffness. After returning home, he made a special trip to san huang Zhai, the lower house of Shaolin Temple, to seek treatment from the Zen master "Shi Dejian". So much competitive sports are not entirely beneficial to our health. The real traditional Shaolin Kung Fu is very different from competitive martial arts. It pays less attention to martial arts, pays more attention to health, is good at martial arts, pays attention to practicality, and does not pursue showing off. Physical strength is gradually supplemented, and more attention is paid to internal cultivation. Shaolin Zen, Zen martial arts and Zen medicine are an organic whole and inseparable, and they are the supreme practice pursued by eminent monks in past dynasties. However, although competitive Wushu has made rapid achievements, it also brings hidden dangers to the body. ...

Due to the current forms of martial arts and some people's misunderstanding, only a handful of people really master the essence of traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, and the traditional Shaolin Kung Fu is also in danger of being lost. .....

Shaolin wonderful master cloud:

Hard skills are more than soft skills, which is completely masculine. Practice methods are also simpler than soft skills, and you don't need all methods. Success is easy and quick, so learners are unique. But studying hard is easy to hurt your health, which is not conducive to the operation of qi and blood, and it is easy to be disabled when you are old. Therefore, people who practice hard work should understand the methods of internal work to regulate breath, the principle of qi and blood operation, and the method of yin and yang transformation. Only by studying both inside and outside can they achieve great success and solve the problem of overwork.

Soft skills and internal skills are the best of Zen, but Zen is not a boxing, far from a hard skill, and external skills are equal. Its strength is thick and firm, soft outside and rigid inside; The figure is like a willow, and it follows all over; Ups and downs, such as waves in the sea, are shaped by contraction and stretching, receiving and releasing; Its hands are like meteors, but also like wind and clouds. Footwork is like a drunken god, invisible, like a running spring; The power of Zen lies in its heart, and it is accomplished in sex. At first, if soft skills were rare in the world.

This boxing is my own creation based on some ancient boxing scores. I hope you can give me some advice.

Fist is like a meteor eye, waist is like a snake.

The legs are full of monkeys, and the body is like a dragon in the sky;

At the end of the road, the spirit is at the top, and the reality is round;

It is also a blink of an eye to have the strength to hide a thousand pounds;

Break the punch skillfully and return to the ring with both rigidity and softness;

Boxing takes posture first, and the waist runs through the exercise;

The movements are compact and disjointed, and the knots are connected;

Just before his back went soft, he squeezed, lifted and wrapped;

Take the flash as the advance, evade cleverly, and defeat the enemy instantly;

When you roll outward, you roll inward, supplemented by elastic force.

Beat the enemy without shadow, roll it up, and see the shape;

The skill of watching hands without fists is not high;

Entering low and retreating high is tight, and the enemy can't prevent it;

Retract, advance and retreat, rise and fall, hide into a fist;

Punching line is not biased, not bent or straight;

Simple and heavy martial arts, mainly practical boxing;

Quiet as a spring without wave marks, if it moves over the river, it will fall into the sea;

Hungry tigers pounce on mountains and rivers, and step down like a root;

Heavy as Mount Tai, light as wool, like a virgin, like a tiger;

The combination of Zen and martial arts is superior, the internal and external are unified, and there is no danger;

The fate of the whole body has been knotted, and the abdomen has four points;

Qi goes to the hands and feet first, and blood is powerful to the gas shield;

Internal strength, spiritual strength, and self-restraint;

Look at the steps of hands, eyes and body, hanging over your head;

Efforts to break hard stones, JIU jujitsu caused 1000 deaths;

Climb the cliff lightly and run like a gust of wind;

Where cows lie, they show their skills, and they are refined to simple Shaolin boxing;

All young people practice boxing endlessly, and Zen stunts have been passed down for thousands of years.

On "Traditional Wushu" and "Competitive Wushu"

Wushu is a practical martial art from actual combat, which integrates fitness, self-defense and applicability, and has rich cultural connotations. Due to the strict control of the Yuan and Qing governments on folk martial arts and the elimination of the Four Books and Five Classics during the Cultural Revolution, many excellent traditional kungfu in China have been lost or rarely handed down, and many of them are far below the level of their predecessors. Mr. Wan Laisheng, a famous martial artist in China, once said: "Compared with Du Fu's kung fu, I am not as good as a drop in the ocean, so it is difficult to replace martial arts." Although this statement is somewhat exaggerated, it is also reasonable. After the founding of New China, Wushu was revived due to the development of sports. Later, in order to meet the needs of competitive competition, the real practical tricks in Wushu were removed and competitive Wushu was created.

Competitive Wushu is divided into "routine performance" and "Sanda in the ring". Nowadays, many people regard routine performance as traditional martial arts, which is actually ignorance of traditional martial arts culture. The current Wushu competitive routines do not belong to traditional Wushu. If the image is not at all, it should be called "Wushu routine" or "Wushu gymnastics", which is manifested in the following aspects: the movements are too exaggerated, the flying movements are too much, and the physical strength is too great, which basically has no practical effect. Sanda, a competitive martial art, is a fighting sport with rules and restrictions. It is absolutely forbidden to hit the key and turn the sword into a plow. It can also be said that it is a civilized fight, which does not belong to the traditional martial arts category.

Traditional Wushu attacks people's key points, causing injuries, disabilities and deaths. There are no rules or restrictions. It is the experience summed up by countless Wulin predecessors in actual combat, and it is the most suitable way to fight in the street. (Of course, this is only a manifestation of traditional martial arts, and it doesn't have to cause injury, disability or death when fighting with people. It depends. Of course, it is more important to cultivate one's self-cultivation in practicing martial arts, so I won't elaborate on it.

The real traditional Wushu is to pay attention to health care, physical and mental health, pay attention to practicality, oppose showing off, and not be bound by form. When Wushu reaches a certain level, there is no routine. Routine is just a means of exercise in Wushu. Traditional Wushu routines are very different from competitive Wushu routines. Physical strength is gradually supplemented, and more attention is paid to internal cultivation.

Many people are keen to discuss Muay Thai and Sanda, or which is better, Taekwondo and Karate, which is the premise of forgetting under what rules to fight. We can understand Muay Thai as a fighting sport with fewer rules and suitable for professional athletes.

The purpose of formulating competition rules is to ensure the safety, fairness and justice of participating athletes, give full play to their skills and reflect the characteristics of sports. Fighting between Wushu events with different rules deviates from the minimum standards of fairness, justice and safety in sports competitions.

I can give you a real example. That was when I was in middle school. At that time, there was a Sanda champion in the province who had just finished the competition. Many reporters are interviewing him and many onlookers are watching. At this time, a local rascal also came to communicate with him. On the premise that the Sanda champion didn't have any awareness of prevention, the hooligan suddenly spat on the Sanda champion's face, followed by a sulk, and then ran away. In the blink of an eye, the rascal disappeared into the crowd, while the Sanda champion squatted on the ground for a long time before standing up. In the ring, due to the limitation of playing style, players' defensive awareness of key parts is very weak, so there is still a gap between the playing style in the ring and the actual combat in the street.

Take taekwondo as an example. Like martial arts, it is already very applicable, called budo. Later, in order to meet the needs of the competition in the ring, some really vicious moves were removed, resulting in competitive taekwondo, or martial arts. Taekwondo is also a martial art with a long history. It is said that it is related to Shaolin Wushu in China and influenced by Japanese karate. According to ancient records, it was found and quoted from cultural relics and classics. There is no word Taekwondo in Korean classical books, and the names of all kinds of unarmed combat are unarmed, shoulder to shoulder, gladiator, Tang hand and so on. This also shows that the emergence, development and evolution of Taekwondo have gone through a very long time.

In self-defense, you should use all available means, such as hitting the other person's head with a briefcase and a mobile phone, swinging the key with your fingers, quickly taking off the belt and slamming his head and neck. To increase the lethality. Boxers don't need gloves to fight, and taekwondo athletes don't need to attack themselves barefoot. They should seize the precious opportunity, treat all joints of their bodies as weapons, and slam the key parts, which competitive martial arts can't learn.

For example, when fighting in a hard and slippery narrow field, the kicking methods of Taekwondo, such as chopping, flying backspin, spinning legs, double flying kick and high horizontal kick, should be avoided. You may fall and get hurt by your opponent. Moreover, the body posture of the mob rarely appears in the posture of the opponent in the stadium, and the movements are irregular.

Self-defense kicking is generally not excessive, attacking the opponent's crotch, knee joint, tibia, abdomen and ribs. The technique of horizontal kick has high requirements for opening hip joint, quickly supporting foot and balancing body, but it is of little use in actual combat except for attacking soft parts such as soft ribs and abdomen, because it is easy to kick the hard parts of the opponent, but it is a bone injury on the instep of one's own foot. Therefore, the kicking methods of all fighting techniques in the world are generally front kicking, back kicking, side kicking and front kicking.

Competitive Wushu is easy to popularize, suitable for teenagers to practice, practical and effective. Especially today, when China Wushu is rapidly moving towards the international sports stage, competitive Wushu is easy to implement standardization and standardized management, which makes it possible to implement hierarchical management of the Wushu technology under discussion. However, the accumulation of competitive Wushu culture is insufficient, and Wushu internal strength practice is lacking. Like many other projects, excessive physical exertion and pain can easily bring hidden dangers to the body.

Traditional Wushu is not only a sport, but also a simple technical attack. This is a college course. It is a combination of traditional cultural ideas and hundreds of scholars, with rich cultural heritage, the crystallization of working people's wisdom and the cultural heritage of the world. We should call on people to pay attention to it, to dig, organize, protect and develop it, and let more people know what the true meaning of traditional Wushu is. Of course, traditional Wushu and competitive Wushu complement each other.

This is an article I saw in Taekwondo in 2006, which was written with emotion.
