Kong Qingde, a native of Qufu, Shandong Province, joined the National Revolutionary Army in 1927, the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army in 1930, and the China Producers Party in 1932.
During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, Kong Qingde served as a correspondent, platoon leader, company commander, battalion commander, lieutenant colonel and colonel. Participated in the second and third counter-campaigns against encirclement and suppression in Hubei, Henan and Anhui Soviet areas, the siege of Mengcheng No.3 Road and No.6 Road in northern Shaanxi, the siege of Sweet Water Castle and Mountain Castle, and the 25,000-mile Long March in Huangguang area, Huang An and Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet areas.
During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he served as the battalion commander, colonel and deputy commander of the Third Army Division of Jinan Military Region, and participated in battles such as Yangming Fort, Langya Mountain in Liao County, Baijin, Wusha and Hundred Regiments War.
During the War of Liberation, he served as a brigade commander and deputy commander of a column, and participated in Shangdang, Handan (Pinghan), Juye, Gannan, hua county, Dingtao, southwestern Shandong, Dengxian, Xiangfan, Fancheng and Dabie Mountains.
After the founding of New China, Kong Qingde successively served as deputy commander of the Henan Military Region and acting commander of artillery in the Central South Military Region, making contributions to the revolutionization, modernization and regularization of the army.
Kong Qingde is a deputy to the Fifth National People's Congress. 1955 awarded the rank of lieutenant general, and won the first-class August 1st Medal, the first-class Independence and Freedom Medal, the first-class Liberation Medal and the first-class Red Star Meritorious Medal.
