Lanzhou, referred to as Lan and Gao for short and called Jincheng in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city, provincial capital and I-type big city under the jurisdiction of Gansu Province. The State Council has approved an important industrial base and comprehensive transportation hub in the northwest, one of the important central cities in the western region and an important node city in the Silk Road Economic Belt. Its altitude is between1500-3000m.

Altitude sickness is caused by human body quickly entering the plateau above 3000m above sea level and being exposed to low pressure and anoxic environment, while the altitude in Lanzhou is between 1500-3000m, and altitude sickness will not occur in Lanzhou.
