Yan Youyun was born in 1905. His grandfather Yan Xinhou was an industrialist who founded Siming Bank and the first general manager of China Commercial Bank. His father Yan Zi inherited his father's business and operated Yuanfengrun Bank and Yuanji Bank in Shanghai. Since Yan Youyun was born, his family has been well-off.
And she happened to catch up with an era of western cultural reform. Female reading is also common in educated families. There are many brothers and sisters in Yan family, so my father invited two university teachers for them, one to teach Chinese and the other to teach English. In the 1920s, higher education in China was still in its infancy.
There are only over 30,000 students in China, and even fewer girls can enter universities. Yan's three sisters were also admitted to the university. 1927, Yan Youyun entered Fudan University. At that time, few girls were admitted to Fudan, while Yan Youyun was beautiful and had a good family condition. She never changes clothes every day. She is very popular in the whole campus and pursues her rich children, but she doesn't like any of them.
She met Yang Guangling at a dance. He is the son-in-law of Huzhou silk merchants. He graduated from Tsinghua University and received a doctorate in law from Princeton University. After graduation, he worked in the Chinese embassy in the United States. This time he attended the Geneva Opium Conference as an expert. The handsome Yang Guangling won the heart of Yan Youyun.
They danced, and Yang Guangling took a fancy to her. They fell in love quickly, and Yang Guangling and Yan Youyun had a party? Century wedding? Shocked the whole of Shanghai. After marriage, I also traveled abroad with Yang Guangling and lived in the Philippines. Yan Youyun gave birth to his three daughters.
Unfortunately, when the Pacific War broke out, Yang Guanghao died heroically. When the Japanese army captured Manila, Yan Youyun hid in the countryside with his three daughters. The old lady, who has never suffered, started farming, raising chickens, making shoes for her three daughters and living with the families of other diplomats.
However, in this tragic environment, Yan Youyun still maintains an optimistic attitude. She plays the piano in her spare time, and she soon learned to make soy sauce and soap. This rural life didn't end until 1945. As a diplomat's wife, she got a job in the United Nations.
At work, I met Gu Weijun, a diplomat. 1959, Yan Youyun officially retired. She and Gu Weijun also got married this year. Gu Weijun has a long and healthy life. He once wrote a 5 million-word memoir, which was full of Yan Youyun's careful care to keep him healthy.
Every morning after he wakes up, Yan Youyun will prepare him a cup of hot milk and let her drink it before going back to sleep. He died on 1985 at the age of 97, while Yan Youyun, who is in his 90s, still reads books, plays mahjong, bakes cakes, knits sweaters, and sometimes even eats a big meat meal happily.
100 years old and wearing high heels and perfume, I don't feel old at all. I also explained some secrets of longevity in my autobiography, right? Have a good attitude? According to some scientists' research, maintaining an optimistic attitude can really prolong life, and Yan Youyun's life, though a little hard, is also very wonderful. He died in 20 17 at the age of 1 12.
