Ask a question about Taoist practice!
Taoist inner alchemy is called the "three treasures" of essence, qi and spirit, and its meaning is:

1 and "essence" refer to the essence of human life tissue, which can be understood from the innate and acquired levels. The "innate essence" is innate, so it is also called "yuan essence", which is the essence of the original; "The essence of the day after tomorrow" refers to the semen injected during sexual intercourse.

2. Corresponding to "essence", "qi" also has innate and acquired points. The innate qi is the primary qi of the human body, so it is called "primordial qi", which reflects the promotion of the innate fire, so writing is "brushing". From the glyph, the four dots below the word "play" indicate that fire is burning in the sky, and this kind of "fire" is the driving force of life. As for "acquired qi", it refers to breathing qi, that is, qi outside the universe. Breathing qi is also essential for human survival, but only through the warm cultivation of "Shenhuo" can it become the energy source of Neidan.

3. "God" is also different from nature and nurture. "God of the day after tomorrow" refers to "knowing God", and its function is to know and distinguish. This kind of "knowing God" is useful for learning knowledge. Laozi's "Tao Te Ching" says that "learning from day to day" means how to increase knowledge through the role of "knowing God". However, as far as internal alchemy is concerned, it must rely on the observation of the "innate god", also known as the "yuan god", which is a person's original self-light, and the observation of the yuan god is a process of weakening the understanding of god. Laozi's Tao Te Ching calls it "the loss of Tao and the sun", that is, it eliminates the interference of knowing God and enters an intuitive state of inaction.

4. The growth of essence, qi and spirit is based on Shen Yuan's observation, which transforms "acquired qi" into "innate qi", that is, practicing qi essence, refining spirit and returning it to deficiency, forming vital signs with sufficient vitality, nourishing essence and increasing vitality, thus making life glow with lasting youth.
