Buhe Town used to be a river-crossing pier between the north and the south, and it was called "Qingcaoba". Later, due to the construction of the Yangtze River levee in the south of the Yangtze River, the pier moved northward, which was called the Buhe River. 1949 new China was founded, and the old system is still being used. Buhe River still belongs to the sixth district of jiangling county.
Buhe Town, located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, is connected with the first bridge in Jingzhou. It is the south gate of Jingzhou and an important passage from the southern coastal areas to the central and western provinces. There are 3 neighborhood committees, 50 villagers' committees and 352 villagers' groups in Buhe Town, with 82,335 people. The total cultivated land area is 1.27 million mu, and the water surface of three lakes and eleven ponds is 1.3 million mu.
