Synopsis: During the Western Wei Dynasty, a large number of civilians became slaves in chaos and lived like dirt. Handmaiden Chu Qiao (Zhao) was sent to the hunting ground by the nobles to be shot for entertainment. Fortunately, Xun Yan (Shawn Dou), the prince of Yanbei, secretly saved her, and then she was taken to Yuwen's home in Chang 'an. Seeing the tragic deaths of his brothers and sisters, he vowed to take his sister out of the cage.
Chu Qiao is concerned by the enlightened aristocrat Yu (played by Kenny Lin) and forced to undergo strict training. At the same time, he forged a deep friendship with Xun Yan.
