It usually takes an hour to an hour and a half to cook porridge. Take red bean and barley milk porridge as an example:

Practice of red bean and barley milk porridge

Ingredients: more than half a cup of red beans (rice cup), less than half a cup of coix seed, 5 red dates, appropriate amount of rock sugar, 250ml of pure milk.

1. Wash red beans and coix seed (the ratio of red beans and coix seed is 2: 1) and soak for 20 minutes. It's easier to boil if you can soak it for one night in advance.

2. Put the beans into the rice cooker, and add 1.5 times the water usually used for cooking.

3. After boiling for 40 minutes, add rock sugar and cut the red dates in half (it is best to remove the core from the red dates).

4. Cook for another 30 minutes, then add the milk, and the cook button will cook for 20 minutes.

5. After 20 minutes, put it in a bowl and let it cool slightly, then serve.
