What is the role and function of Xu Changqing?
Has the effects of expelling pathogenic wind, removing toxic substances, relieving pain and promoting blood circulation.

Functional indication

1, used for rheumatism joint pain, lumbago, traumatic injury pain, abdominal pain, toothache and other pains. Xu Changqing has a good effect of expelling wind and relieving pain, and is widely used for various pains caused by rheumatism, cold coagulation, qi stagnation and blood stasis. It is also used for postoperative pain and cancer pain, and has a certain analgesic effect. Can be used alone, or combined with related drugs according to symptoms.

2, suffering from eczema, rash, intractable skin disease. Xu Changqing has the function of expelling wind and relieving itching. It can be taken orally or decocted, and can also be combined with drugs such as Sophora flavescens, Kochia scoparia and Dictamni Radicis to clear away dampness and heat. In addition, Xu Changqing can relieve snake venom and treat snake bites. Can be combined with Lobelia Chinensis for oral administration or external use.

pharmacological action

1, analgesic effect: hot plate method proved that Xu Changqing had analgesic effect on mice. After intraperitoneal injection of 5 or 10g/kg, the analgesia appeared for 1 0min, but did not disappear after1hr.. Paeonol can also increase the pain threshold of mice. However, it has been proved that the application of Xu Changqing solution containing paeonol can also prolong the pain reaction time, improve the pain threshold and analgesia rate. This proves that there are other components besides paeonol in the analgesic effect of Xu Changqing.

2. Sedative effect: Paeonol has sedative effect. The experiments of photoelectric cell method and cage shaking method showed that intraperitoneal injection of 5g/kg paeonol Xu Changqing injection in mice could significantly reduce spontaneous activity, but could not prolong the sleep time of barbiturates. Convulsions can occur in rabbits after intravenous injection. Whether this is related to the differences in administration methods and animal species remains to be further studied.

3. Influence on cardiovascular system: The continuous intraperitoneal injection of Xu Changqing 3g/kg for 7 days can't eliminate the change of T wave elevation in acute myocardial ischemia caused by intravenous infusion of pituitrin. Xu Changqing decoction (10- 15g/kg) injected intraperitoneally into mice can significantly increase the myocardial uptake of 86 Rb. Therefore, it is considered that it can increase coronary blood flow and improve myocardial metabolism, thus alleviating myocardial ischemia. Paeonol can lower the blood pressure of animals.

Xu Changqing preparation containing paeonol can still lower blood pressure and slow heart rate in dogs, rabbits and rats. Therefore, it is considered that there may be other antihypertensive components besides paeonol in Xu Changqing.

4. Effect on experimental hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis: In the 5th and 9th week, the serum total cholesterol and B- lipoprotein of hyperlipidemia rabbits fed with cholesterol decreased significantly, which was significantly different from that of the control group.

The incidence of atherosclerosis in the drug group was also low, only 3/ 10, while that in the control group was 7/9. In Xu Changqing group, the large and dense plaque stripes were scattered but few, and the lipid deposition in arterioles was also light. The damage of adrenal gland, reticuloendothelial system and liver in drug group was also light.

In addition, from the change of the percentage of basophils in the blood of experimental hyperlipidemia rabbits, it was found that basophils increased when cholesterol decreased at the 9th week after administration, which indicated that Xu Changqing had the effect of lowering blood lipid.

5. Effect on smooth muscle: Xu Changqing injection can reduce the tension of isolated ileum of guinea pigs and resist the intense contraction of ileum caused by barium chloride. But it has no antagonistic effect on ileal contraction induced by acetylcholine and histamine. The same method proved that paeonol had a significant antagonistic effect on the intense contraction of ileum of isolated intestinal rats induced by acetylcholine, histamine and barium chloride.

6. Antibacterial effect: The plate punching method proved that Staphylococcus aureus was moderately sensitive to Xu Changqing, but insensitive to Escherichia coli, Shigella sonnei, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella typhi, and Xu Changqing also had inhibitory effect on Streptococcus A.

The test tube dilution method proved that Xu Changqing whole herb decoction 1: 4 was effective against Shigella flexneri and Salmonella typhi. 1: 2 has inhibitory effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. In vitro, paeonol 1: 15000 has inhibitory effect on Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis, and 1: 2000 has inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus.

Extended data

Urticaria is a common clinical disease, and itching is unbearable when it occurs. In this regard, Liu Weizhong, vice-president of Chinese Medicine Association and a national health care expert of Chinese medicine, recommended a prescription for treating Xu Changqing. ?

Recommended prescription: Take Xu Changqing 35g and honey 20g, decoct in water, daily 1 dose, and take it three times. Or pulverizing Xu Changqing, adding honey, and making into pills, 9g each time, 1 pill, three times a day, and taking with warm water. Generally, acute patients use decoction, and chronic patients use honey pills. ?

Comments: Urticaria is an allergic disease, and its symptoms are sudden wheal and unbearable itching. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that its pathology is mostly caused by wind pathogen mixed with cold and heat, which is not conducive to diarrhea in the muscle surface, or it can accumulate in the skin after damp heat is produced due to gastrointestinal disharmony. ?

Xu Changqing is pungent and warm, and has the effects of expelling wind, detoxicating, relieving pain and promoting blood circulation. Can be used for treating skin diseases such as pruritus, contact dermatitis and herpes zoster. Urticaria is usually caused by blood stasis on the body surface. If the disease recurs, the qi and blood circulation of the body will be blocked, leading to blood stasis. At this time, Xu Changqing's function of promoting blood circulation and qi circulation can achieve the effect of promoting blood circulation and expelling wind. ?

In the prescription, honey has the functions of nourishing health, moistening intestines and lungs, dredging triple energizer, regulating spleen and stomach, and clearing away heat and toxic materials, which can alleviate the problems of stagnation of viscera, unfavorable triple energizer and depressed spleen and stomach in patients with urticaria, so the use of honey is not only a seasoning.
