Scientific instruments are amazed at the magic of Buddha's tooth relic in Yingxian County.

Kang rihua? Li (writing)

After the death of the Buddha, the Buddha mercifully left a relic as a blessing to man and nature. Then everyone will think, what material is the relic made of? Buddhist scriptures say that the relics are "diamond-shaped" and "indestructible". Is it credible?

Now, let's briefly introduce "diamond", which is recognized as the hardest substance in nature.

The conditions for diamond formation require a pressure range of 4.5 ~ 6.0 GPA (equivalent to a depth of 150 ~ 200 km and a temperature of 1500 ~ 2600 degrees Celsius). In other words, all diamonds on the earth can only be formed in the early days of the birth of the earth, that is, 3.3 billion to 4.5 billion years ago. For example, some diamonds in South Africa are about 4.5 billion years old. With the progress of geological science. It is becoming more and more clear that all natural diamonds on the earth cannot come from the earth itself, but only from the depths of the universe, which has been proved by the meteorite structure seen on the earth.

Diamond is called diamond after cutting, and diamond (diamond) is the king of hardness in nature. So, is the relic on the tooth of Yingxian Buddha a diamond? It is impossible to determine with the naked eye and magnifying glass, and it is necessary to identify with instruments to determine whether the relic is a diamond.

With the help of Dr. Gao Bin from AGS Gemological Society in Antwerp, we tested the Buddha tooth relic. Dr. Gao wetted the cultural relics with water and carved them with a pencil, leaving no trace of pencil carving on the cultural relics. Dr. Gao dipped pencil lead in ink to draw lines on cultural relics. Under the magnifying glass, the lines show small dots. Then, Dr. Gao tested the relics with a thermal conductivity instrument, and the results showed that the thermal conductivity was 1000~2600W/(m? K). Dr. Gao also tested the pressure of the cultural relic at 2000 tons with an electronic manometer, and the results showed that the cultural relic was intact at 2000 tons. The results of the preliminary test made the doctor very excited, indicating that the Buddha's tooth relic in Yingxian County was indeed a diamond body.

Dr. Gao Bin said: "The inorganic carbon content of diamond chemical composition is 99.98%, which is the only substance composed of a single element in various ores in nature." Dr. Gao Bin also told us that there are tens of millions of crystals in nature and artificial culture, but according to the macroscopic symmetry of crystals, they can be divided into seven types: triclinic, monoclinic, orthogonal, tetragonal, equiaxed, hexagonal and cubic. Triclinic system is crystal, equiaxed system is diamond, and hexagonal system is meteorite diamond.

Through the preliminary test, Dr. Gao Bin told us, "These cultural relics are priceless!" . We asked how to say it was priceless. Dr. Gao said that he had seen this thing in America. Through the glass cover, a six-axis diamond with the size of 1 mm is stored in the museum in Washington. Dr. Gao thinks these relics are a bit like that thing. Moreover, the preliminary results of thermal conductivity meter test also confirmed his point of view.

These relics mentioned by Dr. Gao Bin are hexagonal meteorite diamonds. What is this? Its English literal translation is called "lonsdale". About 200 years ago, lonsdale, an American geologist, was studying a material falling from the sky into a table tennis-sized meteorite in Arizona, USA, and found a strange combination of carbon atoms in this meteorite. Then we also know the concept of allotrope. Diamond is hard and graphite is soft, but they are all composed of the same carbon element. The problem is that its crystal arrangement is different, so the carbon atoms of diamonds we see in nature are all arranged in equiaxed crystal system. However, among the meteorite particles discovered by Mr. lonsdale, they are arranged in hexagonal equiaxed crystal system, so they are different from those on the earth. Therefore, Mr lonsdale defined it as a hexagonal meteorite diamond. The Buddha tooth relic detected by Dr. Gao is like a hexagonal meteorite diamond, as precious as the legendary Heshi wall.

Dr. Gao Bin went on to tell us that it is too early to conclude that the Buddha's tooth relic in Yingxian County is a meteorite diamond only by the above methods, and further tests are needed.

Dr. Gao carefully observed the relic under an electron microscope, and the natural texture showed no artificial traces. If these relics are really meteorite diamonds, they are priceless. If they were artificially created by the ancients, they will be greatly discounted. Dr. Gao decided to check it again with infrared rays to see if there were any traces of artificial synthesis. No organic carbon was found in the infrared detection results, which means there is no organic matter. If there is no organic matter, it means that the ancients did not use glue to bond some substances together.

Even Dr. Gao was surprised by the above test results, because he had never seen so many hexagonal meteorite diamond remains before, and he felt it necessary to use an electron probe to detect what elements these remains were made of and the structures of various substances in them. After electron probe detection, Dr. Gao found that these millet grains are composed of four elements. 0.03% is sulfur, zinc, silicon and strontium, and 98.07% is carbon, which is consistent with the composition of diamond. Dr. Gao said that all these elements have been detected, and the main component is carbon, but whether it is inorganic carbon or organic carbon is still uncertain.

Dr. Gao told us that if a diamond touches an electron beam, it will flash like a flash. So sometimes it glows by itself.

In order to further understand whether the physical and chemical characteristics of these relics are consistent with meteorite diamonds, Dr. Gao decided to use X-ray diffractometer for further analysis. If it is the same as meteorite diamonds, then these relics should be inorganic carbon, and there should be six diffraction lines, and these six diffraction lines must be exactly the same as those depicted in lonsdale's works, in order to prove that the remains of Buddha's teeth are as magical as meteorite diamonds.

Dr Gao Bin tested some relics by rotating them 80 degrees under the X-ray diffraction instrument. They are all arranged in the form of inorganic carbon crystals, and six diffraction lines are clearly visible. Finally, he assured us that these relics are all meteorite diamonds depicted in lonsdale's works. Dr. Gao repeatedly tut mouth, "it's amazing! It's incredible! " He told us with a smile that your county is the richest place in the world, because these beads the size of rice grains are priceless and cannot be measured by money. If you have to give it a value, these beads are all over $25 million.
