Wushu has lasted for thousands of years in China. Because it is rooted in the fertile soil of China traditional culture, Wushu is the most philosophical and culturally rich sport in the world today. Judging from the development process and cultural form of Wushu, it is mainly manifested in the following aspects.
1. China's classical philosophy is the ideological origin of Wushu. The category of China's classical philosophy is very large, including many schools of traditional thoughts and theories. Taoist philosophy, Zhouyi theory, Wuxing theory, Taiji philosophy and Sun Tzu's philosophy have great influence. We will discuss the ideological origin of Wushu from three aspects: ontology, epistemology and methodology of classical philosophy.
Ontology of Classical Philosophy China's ontology of classical philosophy is simple materialism, which holds that Tao is the origin of the world and Qi is the embodiment of Tao. The formation of life is explained by the accumulation and dispersion of Qi, which leads to life and death. In the ancient Wushu theory, "Qi" is regarded as the force and source of Wushu and the essence of Wushu life. Various external forms of Wushu, such as its function, charm and stunts, are the evolution and embodiment of "Qi". Because the ups and downs of life are the result of qi, and the quality of life is determined by the quality of human qi, so qi is also regarded as the theoretical basis of Wushu health preservation.
In China's ancient philosophy, the view of the unity of man and nature is also an ontological category. The so-called "harmony between man and nature" is the harmonious unity of man and nature, man and society, self-body, mind and body. Wushu is a sport of human body. To achieve the purpose of martial arts, practicing martial arts must conform to nature, imitate nature, follow the laws of nature, and use the laws of nature to achieve unity and harmony with the nature of the universe, so as to seek development.
The epistemological basis of Wushu "the unity of knowledge and action" is the epistemological basis of Wushu and an important mechanism for the development of Wushu. The so-called "unity of knowing and doing" means realizing the understanding of things first and then guiding practice in daily life. Understanding and practice are unified and consistent. The performance of this theory in Wushu is often "applying what you have learned" and "intuition". China Wushu came into being under a certain social demand, and the purpose of practicing Wushu is to apply what you have learned. However, the artistic conception and charm of Wushu are difficult to express in words, and scholars need to use intuition to understand and then grasp it. This is also the characteristic of our national traditional thinking.
The basic principle of Wushu strategic thought is the methodology of "moving against the Tao" It means that the opposite is transformed into its opposite, which is the law of motion. In other words, rigidity can be overcome, strength can overcome weakness, and weakness can also overcome strength. Therefore, China Wushu requires that Wushu must conform to the principles of combining rigidity with softness and harmony between yin and yang.
China's classical philosophy has a profound influence on Wushu. Others, such as the concept of Yin and Yang in Wushu based on Zhouyi philosophy, Bagua Palm based on the concept of Yin and Yang and Eight Diagrams Metaplasia, Xingyiquan based on the theory of five elements, Tai Ji Chuan based on Taiji philosophy, and the concept of offensive and defensive tactics in Wushu based on Sun Tzu's philosophy, all strongly prove that China's classical philosophy is the ideological origin of Wushu.
Second, a strong Wushu concept is an important connotation of Wushu culture. The so-called martial arts morality, that is, martial arts morality, is the moral standard and quality that people engaged in martial arts activities should follow in social activities.
Wu De's theory is very rich, including many aspects and levels, and its germination, formation and development is a historical process. The earliest recorded martial arts with clauses in history can be found in Zuo Zhuan's Twelve Years of Xuangong. "Seven virtues of martial arts" means "forbidding violence, arresting soldiers, protecting the country, making meritorious deeds, keeping the people safe, making peace with the people and enriching the people". This is a requirement for warlords' fighting morality. In the process of the formation and development of Wushu theory, Confucian benevolence, which has always been in an orthodox position in feudal society, gradually formed the main content of traditional Wushu. The basic idea of Confucius and Mencius' theory of benevolence is to treat others with benevolence, faithfulness, kindness and love, and to deal with all interpersonal relationships. Wu De's benevolence is first manifested in the unity of practicing martial arts and self-cultivation. Practicing martial arts is not only an important way and method of moral cultivation in life, but also requires martial arts practitioners to have noble character, grand mind and verve. Secondly, Wu De's benevolence is also reflected in the application of Wushu. The essence of Wushu is Wushu, and Wushu must contain cruelty and violence. The spirit of benevolence and righteousness in martial arts requires taking the other side as the main task and trying to avoid killing people for their lives. Make friends with martial arts, but also pay attention to point-to-point, and regulate behavior with "courtesy." Wushu boxing is a traditional Wushu etiquette in China. Contemporary Wushu, which aims at serving peace and friendship, has been given a new meaning: making a fist with the right hand means martial arts; Cover your fist with your left hand to show respect for virtue and make friends with martial arts; The left palm and four fingers are close together, which means that the Wulin in the four seas are United and forge ahead; Bend your left thumb to show that you are open-minded and never arrogant; The arms are bent, indicating that there is a Wulin family in the world.
This is the connotation of martial arts. Although Wushu also stresses actual combat, you should understand the deeper meaning of our China Wushu.
