Slow defecation
The elderly are prone to constipation. If defecation is too hasty, the rectal mucosa and anal margin are prone to rupture. Especially for the elderly with arteriosclerosis, hypertension and coronary heart disease, it is easy for them to hold their breath suddenly when defecating, which will easily lead to a sudden increase in blood pressure and induce cerebral hemorrhage. It's best to use the toilet and let it solve naturally.
Walk slowly.
People should walk every day, but the elderly should walk slowly instead of quickly. Walking slowly can prevent fractures of femur and tibia or other problems caused by falls. Walk slowly, generally about 60-70 steps per minute, about 30 minutes. Old people with poor health should use appropriate crutches to increase the support of their legs, which is helpful to the balance of the human body and the stability of walking.
Eat slowly
It is particularly important for the elderly to pay attention to food safety when their eyesight, smell and taste are generally declining. Chewing slowly while eating can not only help digestion, but also prevent small foreign bodies such as broken bones and fishbones from getting stuck in the esophagus or choking into the trachea, which will bring serious consequences.
Change places slowly.
Many elderly people often feel dizzy because of the decline of heart function and cerebral artery, the decrease of vascular elasticity, the decrease of blood volume and blood oxygen content, and the change of body position. Therefore, when the elderly change their positions, they must pay attention not to move too fast, too big or too long to avoid dizziness, fainting or other problems.
