Can you really get the Tao by practicing Buddhism?
The essence of Buddhist practice is to realize the truth, that is, the last reality of the universe, which can also be called "truth as", "Ru Ru", "emptiness" and "inaction", which is a concept beyond language! It can only be directly realized as empirical knowledge in the present, as the Buddhist said, "the present quantity proves knowledge"; So "Buddha" consciously feels that he is perfect!

However, if you want to achieve supreme consciousness, you must have a healthy body and a good mental state, so that you can have profound insight and meditation. Therefore, the ancestors of Buddhism have always been great. Whether they reveal secrets or multiply, most of them are physically and mentally healthy and even enjoy a long life, such as the old monk Xu Yun and the old monk Guang Qin. However, this is not absolute. As mentioned above, the essence of Buddhism is to achieve supreme equality consciousness. The premise of enlightenment must be bodhicitta, to spread all beings, and even to sacrifice oneself to protect the law. For example, Master Xuanzang devoted himself to translating classics, while Shou Yuan was only 65 years old, because the master only slept for three hours every day! The landlord can learn from the biographies of eminent monks in previous dynasties, and everyone's karma is different. Therefore, the physical condition of Buddhist practitioners cannot be generalized, and there is no regret for sacrificing one's life for Buddhism! It is the realm of "empty after all", "empty again" and "everywhere". You will never cling to this body and seek pleasure!

Because the premise of enlightenment is the need for deep meditation and adjustment in diet and daily life, it is also of great help to health preservation indirectly, so it can also promote good health and prolong life.

In a word, Buddhism focuses on the cultivation of "mind", which is different from Taoism's efforts to cultivate "body". Self-cultivation is only a by-product of Buddhism!

As for the situation of Olympic athletes, they are inclined to physical training, and the kung fu of physical and mental coordination is far less than Taoism and Buddhism!

I sincerely hope that I can help you learn more about Buddhism.
