Preface to Notes on Explaining Confusion in Six Classics of Tibetan Medicine in Huangdi Neijing

At the beginning of studying medicine, the teacher once said to me, "From the perspective of studying medicine, my teacher is just a guide, and the patient is your real teacher." Unconsciously, I have been a "doctor" for twenty years. Today, I have a new understanding of the teacher's words, because many skills are really summed up from the clinic. I cherish the opportunity to become attached to every patient, thank the patients for their trust in me, and let me make continuous progress on the road of practicing medicine.

In recent years, in addition to following teachers and taking patients as teachers, I would also like to thank my other teacher, Shu. For more than 20 years, books have accompanied me through one difficulty after another. I always ask this teacher for advice when I encounter intractable diseases. Among the voluminous classics of traditional Chinese medicine, I especially prefer the book Huangdi Neijing, and I study hard. It has given me a lot of enlightenment to cure diseases and save lives, and taught me the way of China health culture to get rid of diseases and prolong life.

Huangdi Neijing, composed of Su Wen and Ling Shu, is the earliest existing medical classic in China. It has been a treasure for China people to seek health and treat diseases for thousands of years. Bing Wang, a famous Taoist medical master in the Tang Dynasty, compiled a book based on his years of practicing Taoist Kung Fu. The first article "On Ancient Naivety" tells the main points of keeping in good health from the beginning. However, in the nearly thousand years since Bing Wang, due to the lack of understanding kung fu, most scholars have been reading this wonderful book in essays, with little new ideas and unable to understand its subtlety.
