My hobbies are reading and writing.
My hobby is reading. Every student has his own unique hobbies. Some students like dancing, some students like painting and some students like collecting stamps. If you ask me what my hobby is? My first answer must be reading. Because most of my spare time is spent on reading hobbies. My mother told me that when I was born, my father searched all the books at home in order to give me a nice name, and finally saw a poet named Palisa in a collection of poems, so he decided to name me Palisa. In this way, my name comes from books. When I was a child, I always liked to listen to the wonderful and interesting stories told by my grandparents. Later, my sister told me that most of the stories told by my grandparents came from books. So, my young mind began to yearn for reading. It wasn't long before I finally started school. Studying at school has made my wish come true. Because on the first day of school, the teacher sent me one brand-new book after another. Although I only got some textbooks, I was still very satisfied. I was excited and happy. I'm so excited that I can finally study. I'm glad that I finally have my own book. Gradually, I found that books are a very valuable thing. Although it has no sound, it has taught me countless knowledge, taught me how to calculate, and taught me a lot about being a man. A book is like a wise tutor, educating me when I am confused. With books, I know a lot of words, I can know the signs on the street, and I can read many furniture and daily necessities at home and the instructions of food or medicine. On my fifth birthday, my mother bought me a copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales. I am very happy, because I have always dreamed of having an extracurricular book that belongs to me. I am very grateful to my mother. After that, I read the hard-won book Sleepless Night. I met the little match girl, Snow White, the ugly duckling, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and so on. From these wonderful fairy tales, I learned what is beautiful and kind and what is cunning and ugly. I still have this book, after all, it is the first story book I got. My uncle's house gave us a cupboard. Dad put this cabinet in the living room. This cabinet is very high. I was very young at that time, and I stood on tiptoe to get to the first floor of the cabinet. I made a request to my parents: I asked to use this cabinet as a bookcase, with many books on it and nothing else. I also asked my parents to put all the books in the bookcase and try to fill them up. My parents agreed to my request. Since I have a bookcase, I buy books as soon as I have money. Therefore, I have been reluctant to spend a few dollars of pocket money. I made up my mind to fill the bookcase with books. So, I began to implement the "money saving plan". Since the implementation of the so-called "saving money plan", I have become very greedy at home. After three months, I only saved fifty yuan. But the money is only enough for me to buy five or six books, which is very inconspicuous in that tall bookcase. I managed to save money to buy books like The Journey to the West's Children's Encyclopedia, 100,000 Why's, and Knowledge of Marine Benthic Organisms. I regard these books as treasures. After all, they are the first books on my bookcase. I also read through these books. My father always brings some books about car maintenance. Although there are many books, they occupy the top of the bookcase alone. I have read these books, but I don't understand their contents. My mother brought many recipes and some health books. The contents of these books were like gobbledygook to me at that time, but I still couldn't understand them. My sister sent me a lot of books after she graduated from junior high school. Among the books sent by my sister, there are four famous books that I like to read most, five thousand years ago, insects, and encyclopedia of the ocean. My parents' books, my sister's books, and the books I buy every month finally fill the bookcases at home. When I was in primary school, I finished reading all the books in our bookcase and applied the accumulated knowledge to my daily life and study. As I get older, I read more and more books. From children's books to fairy tales; From fairy tales to comics; From comic books to encyclopedias; From encyclopedias to essays ... my interest in reading has never stopped. I learned knowledge from books and the truth of being a man. I am often fascinated by reading. I remember one time, I borrowed a copy of Youth Literature from my classmates. It was the last semester of the sixth grade and the last year of my primary school. I thought I could read this book after class, but I didn't expect the teachers to spare no time after class. I am very disappointed. After lunch at noon, all the other students went out to the playground, leaving me alone in the classroom. I took out Youth Literature and Art and read it with relish. When I read one of the wonderful stories, I seemed to see the scene in the story. But the noon time passed quickly and classes began again. Finally looking forward to the afternoon after school. Go home and finish your homework seriously and quickly, take out Youth Literature and Art and read it happily. After a while, my mother invited me to dinner. Although I promised "yes", the book in my hand attracted me like a huge magnet. I can't take my eyes off it. I want to take this book to the dining table and read it at the same time, but my mother has stipulated that I can't take any books to the dining table. If I take it with me, it will definitely be confiscated. I still couldn't bear to put the book down, so I just read it for a while. This time, mom was angry. She threw a book in my hand on the ground and said angrily to me, "You will have a primary school graduation exam soon. After six years' study, you have made achievements in this exam. You did well in this exam, and you will have plenty of time to study in the future. " I picked up the book on the ground, so I had no choice but to eat it. When I was a child, my mother supported me to study, but with the increase of study pressure, my mother stopped letting me read extracurricular books. But this is understandable, after all, my mother is doing it for me. But I still can't resist the temptation of books. When I was in the first grade, I heard from my classmates that I could go to the school library to get a library card. So I couldn't wait to get a library card, and then I went to borrow books every week. I borrowed a lot of books and became good friends with Mr. Han in the library. Teacher Han said: "Now that technology is developed, it is convenient for people to surf the Internet, and fewer and fewer people are studying. Few teenagers love reading as much as you. " However, I always believe that no matter how advanced technology is, it can't replace books. Books are the ladder of human progress, and books are very precious to me. Whenever I read a book, I always put my schoolbag on the surface, and then take off the cover and put it in the bookcase after reading it. Because of this, the book I have read for a long time is brand new. In order to deepen my impression of each book, after reading a book, I will write the knowledge and my feelings learned from this book into my reading notes, and also copy the wonderful fragments copied from this book into my diary. Books are called "eternal fruits" of human civilization. In my opinion, this metaphor is very appropriate. Now, I can't live without books. Reading became a part of my life. Because reading not only brought me endless fun, enriched my life, made me constantly increase my knowledge, improved my writing level and broadened my horizons, but also accompanied me to grow up and enriched my after-school life. At the same time, it also aroused my yearning for the future and curiosity, which enabled me to establish a lofty revolutionary ideal. At this time, my mind is full. In my study, when others have difficulties, in my communication with my classmates, I make full use of what I have learned from books and feel the great significance of reading. More importantly, it makes me understand the truth of being a man-since people live in this world, they should "devote their limited lives to serving the people indefinitely" like Uncle Lei Feng. Books are my mentor and a part of my life. Therefore, my hobby is reading.
