Q: If you recite scriptures, what scriptures should you recite?

A: There are more than 8,000 volumes of Buddhist classics, and few people have read them all. People who study the pure land often read Amitabha Sutra, Viewing Infinite Life Sutra, Infinite Life Sutra, Pharmacist Sutra, Dizang Sutra, Miao Fa Lian Hua Sutra, Hua Yan Shou Gui Zhang, Pu Xian Wish, Pumenpin and Diamond Sutra. Among them, the Amitabha Sutra is the most important.

(6) How to recite Buddha?

Q: Isn't it just chanting Buddha with your mouth? What else should I pay attention to?

A: Although some people can't stop thinking about Buddhism, they are still thinking about it. This kind of reading is only a distant cause, and its benefits are not great. You must recite Buddha in your mouth, think of Buddha in your heart, and be consistent in your heart, so it is easy to succeed.

Q: Isn't that difficult?

A: You see, one moment you think it's too easy to recite Buddha, and the next you think it's too difficult. To tell the truth, it's easier said than done. However, no matter how difficult it is, you should bear it with your heart and read more books. After a long time, your heart will naturally not be chaotic. As the saying goes: "Nothing is difficult in the world, I am afraid that there is a will." Stick to it and you will succeed.

Another way is to let every word pass through your heart when chanting Buddha. Read clearly in your mouth, listen clearly in your ears, and speak from your heart. Don't relax a word when you listen again. After such a long time, there will naturally be less distractions and distractions, and my heart will be stable. This is the best way, don't forget.

Q: When should I recite Buddha?

A: Set up a course twice a day in the morning and evening, and limit the number of chanting, or hundreds or thousands. It can be stipulated according to everyone's situation. After the regulation, whether busy or idle, you must read this number. Besides, you can read it anytime and anywhere. The more times you read, the better. The longer you read, the better.

Q: Can I read Buddha at work?

A: Yes, you can recite Buddha when chopping wood and carrying water, when washing pots and dishes, and when plowing and cutting. You can recite Buddha when you live, sit or lie down. In a word, except for the things with your heart, the rest of the work can't interfere with Buddha recitation, and at the same time, Buddha recitation can make your distractions disappear, your mind be single-minded and clear-headed, and you can do your work better.

Q: Do you want to recite the Buddha loudly or quietly?

Answer: Read it aloud, quietly or silently. Only when sleeping in bed and dirty places, you can only meditate in your heart and not read aloud. Reading aloud is disrespectful. But in an emergency, you can say it out loud on any occasion.

Q: Do you need a Buddha statue to learn Buddhism?

A: It is best to provide a picture of Siddhartha Gautama or three western icons. Amitabha, Guanyin and Shi Zhi Bodhisattva are called the Three Sages of the West. )

Q: Where is the Buddha statue suitable?

A: You'd better tidy up an empty room. If not, you can provide it in your own room. But always clean it up and cover it with a clean cloth, and put it down when you are not chanting Buddha to avoid blasphemy. It is best for the Buddha statue to face east, and for those who believe in Buddhism, it faces west. If not, you can offer Buddha to any party.

Q: There is really no suitable place. Can you do it without a Buddha statue?

A: If it is really impossible, then as long as you are sincere, you don't have to send the Buddha statue.

Q: What offerings should be used to support the Buddha?

Answer: You can usually use incense, flowers, lights, clean water, rice, melons, fruits and other things. If it is not easy to do it, you can do it without a few or none, but you must never sacrifice wine and meat, and you must never burn paper ingots in front of the Buddha.

Q: What do you mean by burning incense and lighting candles?

A: Incense candle is a symbol of heart fragrance and light. Because all beings, like Buddha, originally had a sweetheart and a light heart, but they were blinded by delusion and persistence. The purpose of respecting Buddha and Bodhisattva now is to show the original fragrance. It is also a tribute to Buddha and Bodhisattva.

Therefore, as long as one (branch) to three (branches) of incense is lit, the candle will light up. Some people don't understand the truth, thinking that the more incense is burned, the more merits the candle is lit, and the more blessed it is by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. This is a misunderstanding of the meaning of some incense sticks. Moreover, in some places, in order to prevent fire, even if you don't light incense, as long as you have a sincere heart, you can still get the merits of supporting.

Q: Should I kneel in front of the Buddha when chanting?

A: Not necessarily. Kneeling, standing, walking and sitting are all ok, but it is good to be sincere. Of course, kneeling is better.

You said that you were going to have a course of chanting Buddha at two o'clock in the morning and evening. Would you please give me one?

A: When it comes to courses, it should be stipulated by everyone according to their own time. Since you want to see me, I have to write you the simplest ceremony. If you have time and are willing to step up your practice, you can ask for a morning and evening assignment from the Buddhist scriptures circulation offices around the country.

That simple ceremony is: after getting up every morning, before going to bed at night, wash your hands and rinse your mouth, burn incense and worship the Buddha, cross your hands respectfully, kneel or stand sincerely, and read in the following order: (Don't read the words in brackets below. )

(1) Nanwu Shifang lives in Sambo. Say goodbye. )

(2) There is no Sakyamuni Buddha in the south. Say goodbye. )

(3) There is no western paradise in the south, and Amitabha is merciful. Say goodbye. )

(4) There is no Amitabha in the south. (One hundred, one thousand, two or three thousand, the more, the better, although everyone's busy time is their own decision. Only from less to more, not from more to less. No matter how many times you say it, you don't have to worship, you can still sit and read.

(5) There is no Guanyin Bodhisattva in South China. Say goodbye. )

(6) there is no general trend to bodhisattva in the south. Say goodbye. )

(7) There is no bodhisattva in the south, but there is a clean sea. Say goodbye. )

(8) I would like to take this merit to solemnly worship the pure land of Buddha, repay four kinds of kindness and three kinds of poverty relief. If you have knowledge, you will be enlightened. Do this report and live together in heaven. (These eight sentences are called Hui Gui. After watching them, you should worship three times. This class is over. )
