Overflow urinary incontinence refers to urinary incontinence that occurs when the bladder pressure exceeds the maximum urethral pressure only because of the increase of bladder pressure without detrusor contraction, which is common in patients with urinary retention caused by various reasons. When the sphincter is injured, whether it is iatrogenic or non-iatrogenic, it is called true urinary incontinence. When two or more factors cause urinary incontinence, it is called mixed urinary incontinence.
