The present situation of middle school students' infatuation with online games in Ruian City
final report
Research background:
With the rapid development of the global Internet, online games have become a new form of entertainment. Online games provide a virtual social space, which can not only realize people's dreams that can't be realized in real life, but also improve people's sense of teamwork. These are the advantages of online games. However, we also find that online game products are mixed, and there are often scenes of violence, pornography and malicious fights. At the same time, some players who are obsessed with online games have disrupted their original living conditions. Students abandoned their studies because of their obsession with online games, girls fell behind because of their obsession with online games, and young people ruined their bright future because of their obsession with online games. This situation has aroused people's deep hatred for online games. So for our middle school students in Ryan, what kind of situation we treat online games is worth studying and analyzing.
Main research methods: investigation.
Main research route:
1. Through surfing the Internet and consulting materials, I got a preliminary understanding of "online games".
2. Formulate and distribute questionnaires (distributed schools include: public ordinary high schools, private ordinary high schools, vocational high schools and junior high schools).
3. Enter the Internet cafe to actually experience the behavior of middle school students playing online games.
4. Interview some middle school students who often play online games.
5. Analyze the obtained data.
6. Analyze, summarize and write reports.
7. Further organize and make relevant courseware.
The content of the study:
1. Games played by middle school students
2. The reasons for infatuation with online games
3. Money spent on playing games
4. Negative effects after playing games
5. The degree of addiction to playing games
Research results:
The schools we chose to investigate are
Public ordinary high schools: Ruian No.3 Middle School, Ruian No.4 Middle School and Dingtian Middle School;
Private ordinary high schools: Jiangyun Middle School and Longxiang Middle School; Vocational high school: Ryan;
Junior high school: Baotian No.1 Middle School, Tangxia No.1 Middle School and Xincheng No.1 Middle School.
* * * 700 questionnaires were distributed, and 523 valid questionnaires were collected, including 2 17 girls and 306 boys. * * * Interview 4 cases.
First, the game content
From the example of the game, Fantasy Westward Journey ranks first. Fantasy Westward Journey is a set of online games developed and operated by China Netease Company. Fantasy Westward Journey is based on the story of Zhang Hui's famous novel The Journey to the West, and creates a romantic online game style through the Q version of characters. It is an online game with the largest number of people online at the same time in China. Followed by go-karting and Adventure Island, these three are all green games, which meet the age of 18 and are collectively called "green games". The content of the game is healthy, and there are no obvious violent scenes and excessively violent combat designs. There are no obvious bloody or horrible scenes or character designs. No vulgar words, healthy themes. Legend and World of Warcraft belong to games that teach more fighting and killing scenes. The survey data shows that although it is relatively few, it also needs attention. Teenagers are in the formative period of their outlook on life and values, lacking the ability to judge right and wrong, and will become accustomed to the violent plot in the game. When they encounter some problems in real life, they often think of using games to solve them, which is easy to produce some excessive behaviors, go astray and embark on the road of crime.
2. Reasons for playing games:
From the statistical data, apart from other complicated reasons, both boys and girls are bored with learning, which accounts for a relatively high proportion. It can be seen that middle school students now generally feel that they are under great learning pressure and have a strong feeling of being tired of learning. Once they encounter setbacks in real life, especially when they can't solve the problems in their study and life, they will start to escape and look for substitutes that can satisfy their sense of accomplishment in order to get rid of their "weak" position. Online games can just give them strong pleasure.
Secondly, making friends is worth promoting. After all, with the development of science and technology, the distance between the world is getting smaller and smaller. There is nothing wrong with making more friends online, but be careful. Cases of using online fraud have become very common.
The proportion of venting emotions is not small. Why? It is not difficult to see from our interview cases that family reasons also have great factors.
Interview sample 1:
In our investigation of visiting Internet cafes, we found a boy about our age in an Internet cafe. He was playing the boss and looked tired, so we went to talk to him.
"Hey, brother, can we talk?"
"What is it? Say. "
"well. How long have you been playing this game? See you are very tired. "
……
The dialogue was omitted because he didn't want to talk to us at first, and then we started to get involved in the game.
He saw that we were friendly and our attitude improved. From the conversation, he learned that he had not been home for four days.
"Don't your parents care about you?"
"They went to work outside. I'm busy. I rarely manage it and I can't manage it. "
"wow. . . You are too free. "
"Slice, freedom what ah, actually also very depressed ..."
"What are you still depressed about?"
"ah ... ah!"
……
Maybe a boy doesn't want to reveal his inner world directly, but we basically know the most fundamental reason why he plays games. Judging from his expression and tone, he wants his parents to care. )
Interview Example 2:
This is a story about Dai's neighbors. His neighbor is just a boy of 14 years old. When he was in the second grade, his parents divorced and he lived in his grandmother's house. Because I am old, I can't control him. . . He didn't want to learn at all. He went to school occasionally at first. Finally, I spent the whole day immersed in the internet cafe. Play games for 24 hours regardless of fatigue, and eat instant noodles and some snacks when you are hungry. His father sometimes visits his grandmother's house, but occasionally he doesn't know much about his son's real situation. Once Dai happened to meet him in front of an internet cafe and said hello. Because we are neighbors, we have no scruples. He said that his studies had plummeted. His head teacher looked for his father many times and was beaten twice by his father. Now he goes to school on time because he lives with his father, but he can't learn anything. He still sneaks out to play games at night and weekends. Why don't you change your bad habits and study hard? He said that he didn't want to change, but he always felt depressed and confused at home. Aunt is actually very kind to him (aunt later became his father's wife), but he always feels that time can pass faster in front of the game and his heart will not be so empty. Dai walked and talked to him like this, until the fork in the road, and he returned to his present home. Well, I think it would be better if my parents hadn't divorced. There are too many such examples around us.
Three. Money spent:
Judging from the proportion of spending money or not, it is very coincidental that the proportion of boys spending money is 6: 4 and that of girls is 4: 6. The content of online games needs to be upgraded and equipment needs to be purchased, but these all need to consume a lot of money. With the increase of online time, online expenses are also increasing. Moreover, the game cards needed for playing games also need to be constantly updated and recharged. This invisibly increases the economic burden for middle school students.
When students can't bear it, they will come up with various solutions, including violent robbery, theft and other illegal and criminal acts.
Four. Location:
The proportion of internet access at home is relatively large, which reflects the popularity of computers in the family now. However, from the data of Internet cafes, boys are half of girls, indicating that boys still play more games than girls.
But on weekends and holidays, there are still many middle school students in Internet cafes. For this topic, we visited several Internet cafes and found many students playing games.
Verb (abbreviation for verb) has negative effects:
1. in terms of performance, the data of boys' performance decline due to games is as high as 4 1%. Most students have a weak sense of time, pay more attention to games, have no mind to study, and even the pictures of games will emerge in class.
2. From the physiological point of view, playing games has the greatest influence on people's eyesight. From reality, we can find that more and more middle school students wear glasses. In the past, the reason for students' myopia may be improper reading, so now students are nearsighted, and most of them are facing the computer for a long time. According to the data, the ratio of physical injury to uninjured is 6: 4. Therefore, we middle school students are still in the growth and development period, so we should be cautious about our bodies. Sitting in front of the computer for a long time will lead to autonomic nervous disorder, imbalance of hormone levels in the body, and decline of immune function, which will lead to various diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal neurosis, tension headache, anxiety and depression. , and may even lead to death.
The hiding degree of intransitive verbs:
A) Time spent each time: the proportion of girls playing 1-2 hours accounts for 65% of the total number, and boys account for 28%. Only 8% of girls and 26% of boys play for more than six hours. The data shows that boys play games much more than girls. It is reported that being online for a long time is a risk factor of Internet addiction. Long-term internet access will increase the level of dopamine, a chemical in the brain. This substance can make people highly excited for a short time, but the feeling of decadence afterwards is more serious than before.
B) The mood of not playing games for two weeks: Boys are obviously more obsessed with games than girls. The crazy data is not high, but we have to pay attention to it, because the students in this data are likely to have network hiding syndrome. The main manifestations of patients with Internet addiction syndrome are: high spirits when surfing the Internet, surging emotions, unable to stop, and time out of control. Indulge in online chatting or online interactive games, thus ignoring the communication with society and family, and even forming an increasingly strong psychological dependence on the network, so that it is impossible to separate. Experts have found that patients with Internet addiction syndrome are constantly in a state of high excitement due to too long online time, which will cause abnormal increase of adrenaline level, excessive excitement of sympathetic nerve, elevated blood pressure and autonomic nerve dysfunction. In addition, it can also induce cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal neurosis, tension headache and other diseases.
How to judge whether you have Internet addiction syndrome 1? After getting up every day, you feel depressed, dizzy, tired, have poor appetite, or lose concentration, but once you get online, you will be full of energy and all the "diseases" will disappear. When surfing the Internet, you are quick-thinking, eloquent and extremely happy. Once you leave the internet, your language will be dull, your mood will be low, and you will feel lost. Only by constantly increasing online time can we feel satisfied, thus making online time out of control, often longer than the scheduled time. I can't control the impulse of surfing the Internet. Every time I see a new website, my heart beats faster or irregularly. 6. As long as you don't go online for a long time, your fingers will itch. Sometimes I have the urge to surf the Internet as soon as I leave it. Sometimes I want to surf the internet as soon as I get up in the morning. I even want to turn on the computer when I pee at night. 7. When I can't surf the Internet, I feel uneasy or depressed. 8. I can't help but knock on the keyboard, or my body is shaking. 9. Hide the degree of Internet addiction from family members or relatives. 10. Being infatuated with the Internet is in danger of dropping out of school, losing jobs or losing friends. If you have four or more performances in the above criteria, and the duration is more than 1 year, then you have already suffered from Internet addiction syndrome.
Our suggestions:
1. Student: Unhealthy game content will lead to moral anomie of middle school students. Students should focus on learning, enhance self-control ability and cultivate extra-curricular interests. Be good at using the network to learn more knowledge, don't waste too much time on games, and at the same time strengthen the awareness of saving. Parents' hard-earned money is hard to come by.
2. Family: From the point of playing games, most students are at home. Parents should know more about their children, communicate with them more, urge them to study in time, and give care, guidance and education to their online behavior. At the same time, create a harmonious and happy family and let them grow up happily in love.
3. School: Strengthen students' legal system, network morality, sense of responsibility and self-protection education.
At the same time, organize colorful extracurricular activities, so that students can show their abilities and give play to their strengths in various ways.
4. Social aspect: Strictly controlling black Internet cafes can build a place in the green network. Even playing games is healthy, but it should be managed effectively in time. Expand the space for extracurricular activities for minors and build more science and technology museums, libraries, exhibition halls and other venues.

Members' feelings:
Dai Zemin: Through this activity, I feel the joy of social practice. The mutual help among team members makes the relationship between classmates by going up one flight of stairs. Online games may be the hottest topic in today's society. Through investigation, we know the situation of online game addiction among middle school students in Rui 'an. Let us realize the seriousness of internet addiction and give us great inspiration. Through two semesters of investigation and study, we realized the importance of unity and cooperation.
Sun Haonan: Through this practice, I learned a lot, and let me know the harm of surfing the Internet too much. I should make good use of my time and study more.
Jiang Kailun: After this activity, I realized the importance of unity and cooperation. Unity pays attention to a clear division of labor and mutual trust among players. Only in this way can we better unite and cooperate. After this activity, I realized my own shortcomings and deficiencies, but I did it seriously and corrected my own shortcomings. This activity benefited a lot.
Zhang Huan: From this survey, I realized that contemporary middle school students don't know much about online games, and many people play them.
Yang Weikai: Through this activity, I learned that the phenomenon of middle school students playing games online is very serious. Everyone is generally immersed in the game and is very addicted to the game. Their control ability is not strong. They should strengthen the management of children, but not too strict, so as not to make children and parents stiff. Students should be self-aware and spend less time with students with poor grades to avoid falling into the underworld.
Huang Shengcheng: After this research study, I deeply realized how important the strength of many people is. In a large group doing this, only by cooperating with each other can we give full play to our greatest strength. Only unity is the true truth.
Ye: During this period, my classmates and I participated in a series of social practice activities, which left a deep memory for me. I feel that the internet is like a double-edged sword in fairy tales. If used properly, it will benefit a lot. If used improperly, it will fall into this endless quagmire and cannot extricate itself. I only hope that middle school students can properly use this double-edged sword to improve their self-cultivation and knowledge.
Cai Hengpeng: Through the activities of this research group, I know the strength of the collective. We should cooperate and discuss with each other in our present study and life, so that we can know more about everyone in our study and life.
Zhou: I am deeply touched by the practice of this survey. I think we should start with ourselves as an example, restrain ourselves and effectively reduce online time. Only in this way can we better devote ourselves to the study that should be completed now.
Teacher's feeling: I took my students for research study for the first time and learned a lot of experience. My experience is that there must be a clear division of labor, so that every student has something to do and what to do, so as to reduce the laziness of individual students. The advantage of our group is that every member is active and the whole process is very smooth.
