University of London, located in the British capital, is a university administrative system composed of more than a dozen universities and research institutions in London. It is the most influential federalism of public universities in the world, also known as "public federal universities".
The University of London was founded in 1836 according to the Royal Charter. Initially, it was a degree awarding and examination committee that awarded degrees to students from University College London, King's College London and other "unincorporated institutions established for educational purposes".
By the end of 20 19 and 10, the University of London had 18 member institutions and 2 million alumni, including 12 monarchs or royal family members, 52 presidents or prime ministers, 84 Nobel Prize winners, 3 Olympic gold medalists and "Founding Fathers" of many countries. Its schools are also famous in their respective fields: London Business School is in charge of business, Royal Conservatory of Music of London University is in charge of music, Golden Smith College of London University is in charge of art and media, and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine is in charge of public health and tropical medicine.
Since 2005, according to the new Royal Charter, the right to confer degrees has been returned to some of its colleges, including King Smith College of University of London, King's College of University of London, London School of Economics and Political Science, Royal holloway College of University of London, Queen Mary University of London, School of Asian and African Studies of University of London, St George's College of University of London and University College of London.
The University of London Student Union is a huge interdisciplinary student organization of the University of London, and it is also the general meeting of all member student unions, with a membership of 6.5438+0.2 million, making it the largest student union in Europe.
Its purpose is to provide cultural exchange, entertainment and sports services for students of member colleges. Located in Mahlert Street, central London, the seven-story student union headquarters building is equipped with a bar, restaurant, gym, swimming pool and concert hall for all students.
