Sports rehabilitation specialty is a new frontier discipline which combines sports and medicine to make up for the shortage of fitness and rehabilitation talents in China.

The Institute of Physical Education of Suzhou University was established on 1924, Suzhou University started to offer specialized courses in physical education on 1924, enrolled undergraduates on 1926, established the Department of Physical Education on 1952, and 165438 withdrew from the department to establish the Institute of Physical Education. At present, there are postdoctoral mobile stations 1 unit, doctoral programs 1 unit (physical education and training) and 4 master programs (physical education and training, sports humanities and sociology, national traditional sports). There are four undergraduate majors: physical education, sports human science, national traditional sports and sports training, and the sports journalism major is jointly organized with the journalism department of the College of Literature.
