2. The National Aquatics Center, also known as "Water Cube" and "ice cube", is located in Beijing Olympic Park in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The main building is close to the central axis of the city and opposite to the National Stadium. Built on February 24, 2003, it is a landmark building in Beijing and one of the main swimming pools and landmark buildings in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
During the 2008 Olympic Games, the National Swimming Center will host swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water polo and other competitions. After the competition, it will become an international advanced center integrating swimming, sports, fitness and leisure.
4. During the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, it will be transformed into a "ice cube" as a venue for curling events, which can accommodate about 4,600 spectators. According to the renovation plan, "Water Cube" will become the first venue in the world to set up a curling track in the swimming pool.
