I. Legal basis
According to the provisions of Articles 2 and 3 of the Regulations on Voluntary Service in People's Republic of China (PRC), volunteers, voluntary service organizations and other organizations provide public welfare services to the society or others voluntarily and free of charge. To carry out voluntary service, we should follow the principles of voluntariness, free of charge, equality, honesty and legality, and must not violate social morality, harm public interests and the legitimate rights and interests of others, or endanger national security.
Therefore, according to the relevant laws and regulations on volunteers in China, nucleic acid volunteers do volunteer to serve the public without pay.
Second, the definition of volunteers
A volunteer refers to a person who voluntarily contributes his time and energy to improve social services and promote social progress without any material reward.
Voluntary work has four characteristics: voluntary, unpaid, public welfare and organizational.
Taking part in voluntary work is both "helping others" and "self-help", as well as "enjoying others" and "enjoying oneself".
Participating in voluntary work is not only to help others and serve the society, but also to convey love and spread civilization.
Personalization and humanization of voluntary service can effectively narrow the spiritual distance between people, reduce alienation, and play a positive role in alleviating social contradictions and promoting social stability.
Volunteers voluntarily participate in social welfare services, not occupations, so volunteers are not paid. However, no salary does not mean that volunteers just work without food. Therefore, in volunteer work, the organization still has to pay subsidies. Volunteers are not paid in principle. But there is a certain living allowance, otherwise the life of volunteers is not guaranteed and unsustainable.
