Guoyuan has civilizations as old as wuyue, such as Jinsha Site and Sanxingdui Site, which have a high degree of civilization and a long history. Some experts claim that they are even earlier than the history of the Central Plains and have a higher level of civilization than the Central Plains.

As early as the Western Han Dynasty, the State of Qi, located in the Qijiang River valley, was gradually formed, and by the Eastern Han Dynasty, the State of Qi had achieved unprecedented prosperity. With its unique way of life, the people of Qi not only inherited the ancestor's worship of "God", but also had a beautiful vision for life, thus forming a rare Qi civilization in history. Dragon people "lived by the water and were buried by the mountains". Before entering the "Kingdom of Heaven", they had to build their own graves, and put most of their daily necessities in the graves by imitating earthenware. A simple and luxurious tomb can prove the identity of its owner. Burial objects or chickens, ducks, pigs, dogs, cattle and sheep, or bronze bricks and tiles for chariots and horses. This burial custom of the ancients has made today's Han tombs spread all over the famous Yongjiang River Basin. Yongjiang has cliff tombs and Yongjiang has ancient scenic spots.

Yongjiang River originates from Hujiawa Kiln in Taiping Township, Zhongjiang County, and flows through Sandong, Ginkgo, Democracy, Guangfu, Ma 'an, Shilong and other places from west to east, extending southward along the boundary between Santai and Zhongjiang County, reaching Sanshuikou, Puxing, and entering Daying County, Suining City.

Yongjiang River flows into Zhongjiang County, including Jiguang River, Tongshanjing River, Huilong River, Taian River, Cangshanhe River and Yongfeng River.
