Xinghai Square is located in Shahekou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, China. It is an open-air square in the southwest of Dalian, a major construction project to commemorate the return of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to China, and one of the landmark buildings in Dalian.
Xinghai Square was established in June1993; It was put into use on June 30th,1997; Lighting works were carried out on 20 18 12 18. As of April 20 19, the total area of Xinghai Plaza is 1.76 million square meters.
The central periphery of the red marble is decorated with a yellow five-pointed star, which forms a scene of the intersection of Xinghai with the Yellow Sea in the north of Xinghai Square, symbolizing its "Star Bay" and symbolizing Chinese descendants with red and yellow colors.

Xinghai Square adopts arc style, and there is a circle in the oval road network, in which the inner circle diameter is 199.9 m, which means the anniversary of Dalian 1999 100, and the outer circle diameter is 239.9 m, which means that Dalian will celebrate its 500th anniversary in 2399. The central star square is a circular square with three steps on the high ground.
The layout of the central part draws on the design concept of the dome of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. It is paved with 999 pieces of Sichuan red marble. The marble is carved with heavenly stems and earthly branches, the Twenty-four solar terms, the Chinese Zodiac and other patterns, and there are nine Ding with different shapes. There is a Chinese character Wei Bei on each tripod, which, together with * * *, forms nine Chinese characters "Long live the great unity of the Chinese nation".
