According to Qian Qian's mother, two years ago, Qian Qian was a lively, healthy and lovely girl. She likes playing games with her friends best. Even in the scorching sun, she often goes home sweating.
However, when Qian Qian was 8 years old, after dinner, Qian Qian had a seizure without warning and fell to the ground, foaming at the mouth for several minutes. Although the family was very scared at that time, they didn't take Qian Qian to the hospital for examination, but nothing happened after seeing her.
However, in the past two years, Qian Qian's convulsions have occurred from time to time, sometimes at home, sometimes at school, and sometimes even while playing with friends. Later, I felt uncomfortable when I saw the light, and then I blinked frequently. After this symptom appears, sometimes even immediately fall to the ground, foaming at the mouth, and often accompanied by urinary incontinence. Each convulsion lasts for two or three minutes.
After the convulsion, Qian Qian seems to be suffering from a serious illness. She is weak all over. She needs to stay in bed for a few days to recover. During this period, the family took Qian Qian to many hospitals, and no effect was seen. Qian Qian, who used to be cheerful and love to laugh, became more and more reticent and even asked her mother to lock her in a dark room. She has hardly been out of the house in the past six months.
"Qian Qian has twitched under the strong light stimulation. Before convulsion, there were light stimulation factors and signs of blinking and swelling. It is very likely that she suffers from' photosensitive epilepsy', and the epileptic focus is considered to be occipital lobe. Zeng Qichang, director of the Epilepsy Diagnosis and Treatment Center of the Second People's Hospital of Hunan Province, said that Qian Qian had dystocia at birth, probably because his head was squeezed or suffered from ischemia and hypoxia at birth, resulting in intracranial lesions. After thin-layer scanning of the occipital lobe of her head, it is confirmed that Qian Qian's left occipital lobe does have cortical dysplasia, and this lesion can easily lead to seizures, and the frequency of seizures is also relatively frequent.
Found the crux of "fear of seeing the light". After the diagnosis of "photosensitive epilepsy" was confirmed, the medical staff systematically treated Qian Qian's condition and supplemented new antiepileptic drugs with less side effects.
At present, Qian Qian has been discharged from the hospital for nearly two months, taking medicine at home regularly, with obvious effect and no adverse drug reactions.
The treatment of epilepsy can be divided into drug conservative treatment and surgical treatment. Pathological changes of occipital cortical dysplasia (FCD) in Qian Qian can cause photosensitive epilepsy, so surgical resection can be considered. It is reported at home and abroad that the surgical effect is remarkable and most of them can be cured. It is suggested that if the drug effect is not good, intracranial electrode implantation can be considered for epileptogenic focus resection.
Qian Qian's mother said that now that her daughter has returned to school, she is also willing to get in touch with her classmates. I hope sunshine and smiling face will accompany my daughter forever.
