In my opinion, a good movie can meet the needs of the audience at three levels at the same time:
Entertainment, artistic enjoyment and ideological enlightenment.
Recently, I saw a masterpiece that fully meets this standard-
Korean movies: going out.
This is an old film which was released in China in 2005. I recently reviewed the old disc and put it in the CD-ROM drive.
From the beginning to the end of the film, I still couldn't stop, and I couldn't feel tears in my eyes.
Therefore, write this article and enjoy a good movie with you.

Let's start with the entertainment of this movie.
Told a story of "serial derailment".
Extramarital love, commonly known as cheating.
As we all know, the marriage system invented by human beings is not the natural plastic wrap of love, and its defects are often criticized.
From the perspective of human nature, it is human instinct to seek fresh excitement. It is human nature to change your mind when you see something different, so it is not surprising to move on.
In order to ensure the specificity of love, human beings have set various moral laws for themselves, but they are often easily influenced by powerful instincts.
In this film, Renxiu's wife and Shuying's husband broke through the moral shackles and staged an extramarital affair.
Renxiu is an introverted and quiet young man. Although he often works as a stage lighting engineer, he will feel empty when the stage is over.
His wife Xiuzhen is very active. She was an active member of the photography club when she was in college.
Action and stillness should complement each other, but Xiuzhen has an affair with Yin of the University Photography Club.
Yin's wife is gentle and virtuous. After graduating from college, she married Yin and became a housewife.
Yin may really think that "professional women are more attractive" as she guessed, and then she moved on.
These plots are not surprising at first.
Unexpectedly, two people who cheated on each other had a car accident while dating in other places, and both of them became vegetarians.
The news came that Renxiu and Shuying rushed to the hospital near the accident site.
Renxiu and Shuying learned the truth through their spouses' cell phone text messages and self-portrait videos of women having an affair.
The sudden double blow made Ren Xiu and Shu Ying unbearable.
A third blow followed.
The car accident also caused the death of a young man. As the driver of the accident could not be identified, the families of the two perpetrators had to go together to express their condolences to the families of the deceased.
As a result, he was insulted by the other party and even punched and kicked.
On Renxiu's way back to the hospital with Shuying, Shuying was sad, angry, resentful and wronged ... All kinds of emotions gathered together, and she asked to stop and cry heartily on the roadside.
Renxiu felt the same way and silently accompanied him.
Renxiu and Shuying, who suffered a triple blow at the same time, had a feeling of appreciate each other and mutual admiration in frequent contact, and finally developed an extramarital affair!
A couple who had an affair became vegetarians and both were lying in the hospital.
Another couple of extramarital lovers are having an affair outside at this time.
Such a story, as Ren Xiu told Shu Ying, their love is like a "revenge".
With book English slightly drunk joke, is:
At the end of the film, Shuying's husband died and Renxiu's wife woke up.
When Renxiu told his wife about the death of an extramarital affair, the other side burst into tears.
Does this plot satisfy your curiosity?

Let's talk about the artistic features of this film.
In my opinion, the director of this film knows well the implicit and restrained way of China's traditional aesthetics.
The moral of this film can be roughly divided into two categories.
One is the hint of the characters' inner language.
For example, when Shu Zhen stood in a coma in front of Renxiu's wife's bed and secretly looked at this "working woman" who took away her husband's favor, her inner activities seemed to be clearly visible, and we seemed to hear her asking herself in her heart-
"What is more attractive about this woman than me?"
Here, only actions and expressions can describe Shu Ying's heart.
Even better is in-soo's subsequent reaction.
When RenXiu saw Shuying standing in front of his wife's bed, she asked Shuying doubtfully:
Shuying was silent and embarrassed to leave.
Renxiu thought for a moment, ran after her, and sat down in front of the sleepy book English husband's bed, which surprised the book English next to her.
At this moment RenXiu didn't speak.
Just silence.
Just when you guessed what Renxiu might say, he suddenly stood up and left in silence.
Then you suddenly realize that he can't say anything.
It is his character not to say anything.
-He would say:
The other is the moral of the camera.
Why do we always think that TV plays are more popular and movies are more elegant?
An important reason is whether the lens is used well.
There is plenty of time in TV dramas, and the camera often takes pains to explain the details.
Movies usually take 90 minutes to get everything done, and many places just meet China people's aesthetic standard of "elegance"-endless, leaving enough room for imagination.
For example, when Renxiu's wife wakes up, there is a scene where Renxiu feeds her wife.
As soon as the camera turned, Shu Ying passed by the window and saw this scene.
The film only gave Shuying a moderate facial expression shot, and then turned into a feeding shot in the window.
What is Shu Ying thinking at this time?
The audience can completely imagine and supplement by themselves.
This restrained treatment is everywhere in the film.
Coupled with a large number of fixed shots and slowly passing long shots, the overall artistic style is gentle, elegant, quiet and subtle.
Of course, this film is not blindly restrained, otherwise it will inevitably be monotonous and lack of strength.
The characteristic of the modest lens is that it is gone forever-only the expression of the character is explained once, and the lens is quickly switched, and it is gone forever.
At the end of the film, after full preparation, the characters' emotions reach a climax, as if a symphony had reached a brilliant paragraph, and as if a painting had reached a gorgeous part, the use of the lens changed accordingly, and restraint turned into catharsis-
When Shuying's husband died and she was about to return to Seoul, she couldn't bear to leave the station, so she went back to the hotel again. In the coffee shop near the hotel, she stared at Renxiu's figure in front of the hotel window for a long time and couldn't help but burst into tears.
At this time, the camera first shows Shuying's facial expression, then switches to Ren Xiu's figure, and then cuts back to Shuying's crying expression and stays for a long time.
The reciprocating lens seems to express infinite sympathy instead of the audience.
Shuying's sadness, self-pity, helplessness, and various complicated and tangled feelings are all exposed in this group of shots, thus giving the audience a strong sense of substitution.
This film has many artistic features, such as reflecting light with glass and mirrors, which constitutes a meaningful picture.
In many places in the film, Ren Xiu and Shu Ying are included in a frame through the glass reflection, and they are carefully considered, just like exquisite character scrolls, creating a blurred and beautiful artistic conception.
The dreamy feeling of watching movies reminds me of Kawabata Yasunari's Snow Country and Zhang Ailing's The Golden Lock. The artistic techniques of neo-sensual novels have been transplanted and used without trace.

Finally, talk about the ideological enlightenment brought by this film.
Renxiu and Shuying, the protagonists of the film, are honest and conscientious. It seems that they didn't do anything wrong, but fate forced them to do extraordinary things. What should they do?
The film hinted at their choice with poetic symbols-
Renxiu likes winter.
Shuying likes spring.
They all like snow.
Who says it can't snow in spring?
Who says people who love each other can't be together?
Where will they go?
The open ending makes us doubt their possible future.
If it were ourselves, what would we choose?
Secondly, why did extramarital affairs happen? What kind of marriage is not easy to get tired of and can last forever?
Renxiu's wife is probably tired of her husband's quiet personality. Unwilling to be lonely, she sought satisfaction outside her marriage.
Shu Ying's husband may really prefer "working women".
These are actually not the point.
I think the point of the film is that people who step into marriage need to have the awareness of managing marriage.
How to run a marriage?
-Both parties in marriage need to constantly update themselves and improve themselves.
If today's me is different from yesterday's me, tomorrow's me and today's me, both parties to the marriage will always be surprised by the constant update of their partner's image and will always be attracted by each other's growing charm. This kind of fresh stimulation from the inside of marriage just satisfies the instinct of human nature to like the new and hate the old, which is also the secret of husband and wife to grow old together.
If Renxiu constantly improves herself, she will break through the professional restrictions of lighting engineers and make herself more meaningful.
If Shu Ying leaves home and challenges herself bravely, she will become a more comprehensive and excellent woman.
So, how can their partners easily take the step of "going out"?
What kind of marriage is not tiring? What kind of love is eternal?
Find the right person, have been working hard for marriage, will not be tired!
Always keep each other's charm, always fresh and exciting love, forever!
