We can see that the main work page is divided into three parts. Compared with the same type of 3D software, DN's page is very refreshing, consisting of object bar, main view and property bar, which is higher than those dizzying functions of 3D max C4D. However, this also determines the shortcomings of DN's weak function and its inability to make complex graphics.

The object column of Dn is mainly divided into five parts, the first part is summary, the second part is modeling creation, the third part is material, the fourth part is lighting, and the fifth part is preset scene. It must be praised that Dn comes with a series of lights, which Adobe has set up as a series of studios. For someone like me, whose lighting is extremely weak in other software, the preset lighting effect is really something that I can never type manually by myself. ...

Because the function of DN is not perfect, I decided to start with a simple product, first build a cube, stretch it with the shortcut key T, and make it into a plate shape.

Use shortcut key V and shortcut key R to move and rotate, and adjust the angle of the board.

Use the shortcut key alt to drag and copy the same blank board.

Dn is generally the default lighting effect, so generally speaking, we first adjust the material of the object.

Although Dn has many default materials, we need to bring our own materials and textures to make products, which can be stored in PSD or JPG format. In Dn, materials and textures are put together by default, which is very convenient, but its mapping also has many bugs, and the mapping experience is very poor. I hope it can be optimized in the future.

In the process of making materials, we can set the smoothness, transparency and refraction of materials and maps, and the set parameters are adjusted in the property bar on the right. And we can use the shortcut key I to suck materials, which is also the same feature as adobe barrels ~

After adjusting the product, we can add some decorative elements appropriately. Dn has few decorative materials. Personally, I prefer liquid (? (? ω ? )? As a decoration, because the product is relatively large and needs to be compared, I added a computer as a size reference.

Finally, adjust the light effect to ensure the luster of the product surface and retain the original texture.

Then enter the renderings page, next to the design in the upper left corner. You can choose the parameters of rendering, such as quality (don't choose the high one until the end), number of digits (actually, I don't know what it means, but you will encounter a lot of trouble in PS after exporting 32 digits) and storage location.

In the process of rendering, if the preview has reached your requirements, you can click the camera decisively and save it directly. I think this is really too human. For friends with ordinary computer configuration, the rendering time is too long and the quality is poor, but it will not affect too much.

After saving, it is a layered PSD. After importing PS, the surfaces of different materials are divided into blocks in color, and we can choose to arrange them with magic wand.

During the production process, I found that Dn is very weak in rendering shadows. No matter how high the quality is, the final shadow will appear granular, so it must be processed in PS.

In the process of shadow processing, I tried many methods. Gaussian blur will lead to blurred shadow edges, which is very unnatural. Finally, I found that the surface blur that has never been used can perfectly solve the problem of granulation and get the perfect shadow.

To sum up, after making a lot of product renderings with DN, my impression is as follows.

The interface is refreshing, the functions are arranged reasonably and it is easy to use.

The preset material has excellent light effect, is convenient and quick, and has a large number of solid model presets.

Fast rendering speed, can save half.

Hierarchical PSD can be generated directly after rendering, which is beneficial to later finishing.

Disadvantaged

With few functions, complex models cannot be completed.

The default material has few custom properties, so the lighting effect cannot edit the properties.

The rendering quality is poor (especially in the shadow part, with strong graininess).

After building a large number of models, it is seriously stuck, and there are bugs that cannot be edited and edited.

Therefore, Dn is a software that is more suitable for the mapping effect in VI design and simple product model design. It can be said that DN is not a 3D software, but more like a 3D tool aided by graphic designers. Can be used to do some simple design work, but if you really want to be a model, learn C4D honestly ~
