What is the earliest paper-cut work in existence?
The earliest existing paper-cut works were found in Turpan, Xinjiang. These works were used as funerary objects, including monkeys, deer, butterflies and lotus flowers. This in turn means sealing Hou, enjoying wealth and longevity. These paper-cuts all contain the best wishes of the living to the dead. Moreover, these paper-cuts are not red, but are cut on yellow and blue hemp paper to express sad feelings.

Unfortunately, the art of paper-cutting has not been paid attention to in history, and because of climate and other reasons, paper-cutting works are rarely preserved, but its cultural connotation can not be ignored.
