As a Buddhist, how do you practice Buddhism correctly?
First, there are three kinds before sitting: seven kinds of sitting methods for the body, nine kinds of Buddhist styles for the spirit, and three kinds of bodhicitta.

1, body-to-seven sitting method:

Sit on one leg or spread your legs. Fix your hands, with your right hand on top, your left hand on the bottom, and your thumb gently under your navel. If you feel tired, you can put your hands on your knees with a rest seal and hold a rosary in your left hand for counting when reciting. The body is as straight as an arrow, and the sitting posture is natural, neither loose nor tight. If the body sits too tightly, it will cause discomfort such as heart, backache and backache, and it is easy to have many delusions; If the body sits too loosely, it is easy to make mistakes such as ambiguity. Open your eyes, neither too big nor too small, otherwise you will be easily tired, tearful or groggy, and naturally look straight ahead and below as usual.

The seven-legged sitting method mentioned above is very important in the practice of Buddhism. Once upon a time, in the silent forest, there was an arhat who practiced meditation with seven sticks every day. Not far away, there is a monkey imitating Lohan's sitting posture. Although he didn't know how to practice meditation, he only relied on sitting posture, and later he got the position of arhat. It can be seen that it is very important to adjust the body in the process of practicing dharma. Beginners should not ignore the sitting posture, but adjust their bodies as they do.

2. Venting the Nine Buddha Styles:

After adjusting your body, put your left hand on your waist, hold it with your right hand for a period of time, press your index finger against your right nostril, and exhaust air from your left nostril three times. The exhaust method is like the shape of wheat, with thin ends and thick middle. The exhaust method is slow first, fast in the middle and then slow. From the beginning to the present, all crimes and diseases caused by anger (women's view of "greed") have been discharged with the wind. There is a fire of wisdom in front of the net view (the general fire can't burn out the troubles of the three poisons, so the net view is the fire of wisdom), which melts into a fire of wisdom and burns out. Fix the waist with the right hand, hold the print with the left hand, press the left nostril with the index finger, and exhaust three times from the right nostril. From the beginning to the present, all the evils and diseases created by greed (women's view of "anger") have been discharged with the wind and melted into the fire of wisdom ahead. Finally, put your hands under your navel and exhaust your nostrils three times at the same time. Imagine that all the sins and diseases caused by infatuation are discharged with the wind and melted in the fire of wisdom ahead. It's called "Anger will drive out the Nine Buddhas".

When beginners practice Buddhism, many delusions will appear as soon as they settle down, and they can't settle down in meditation because of the accompanying delusions, which is an obstacle to the progress of Buddhism practice. Therefore, before practicing Buddhism, we must first practice and sit down, especially to exhaust nine kinds of Buddhism. Just like washing a dirty pot before cooking, you can make a delicious meal. Similarly, before practicing Buddhism, you can get rid of rough troubles by venting, and it is easy to feel at ease during practice, so it has such advantages as becoming a tool for practicing karma.

3, meaning to send bodhicitta:

Bodhisattvas are divided into secular bodhicitta and positive bodhicitta, while secular bodhicitta is divided into willing bodhicitta and practicing bodhicitta. Positive bodhicitta is great compassion after realizing true merits. It is difficult for beginners to realize the bodhicitta of winning righteousness, so they should practice together with the secular bodhicitta in the practice of Buddhism. Its essence is compassion and oath. First of all, I know that all living beings were once their parents. When they are parents, they are incredibly good to themselves, which is no different from the parents who raised us in this world. Now, all parents who gave themselves kindness in the past know that they are wandering among the Six Classics. Even on the good road, they can only get temporary happiness. If we observe carefully, their happiness is still the cause of pain, so they enter the practice method in order to let all sentient parents know the Buddha fruit of supreme happiness, which is the so-called intention of bodhicitta.

Beginner's meditation method

Generally, novices are eccentric, and their confidence in liberation is still not stable. When they meditate, they think a lot and can't calm down. At this time, they can move forward with the outside world by observing leisure, impermanence of life, emptiness of cause and effect, and pain of reincarnation. Or visualize conversion, pray for a guru, and practice yoga with spells; Or focus on the objects observed during practice, then use various convenient methods to calm your mind, and then naturally settle down in a state of ignorance (this is just for beginners' convenience, don't mistake it for an opinion). When you are confused or dizzy, use the convenient methods mentioned above to make your mind clear and concentrate, then naturally calm down and practice alternately. This is a kind of meditation. When you fall down and feel sleepy at first, you can observe and recite for a longer time and settle down for a shorter time. With the decrease of falls and drowsiness, the time for observation and recitation can be gradually reduced, and the time for calming down can be gradually extended. Generally speaking, people who have just learned to meditate sometimes feel that their troubles are too strong, they can't sit still, they want to keep popping up like hot springs, or they are groggy and come up as soon as they meditate. This is a natural process of meditation. Don't give up when they are groggy and thinking, be patient, sit down according to the above methods, cooperate with the wind, have shorter meditation time and more meditation times. As for the meditators who practice this unique skill or the corresponding method of the guru, with the increasing insight of meditation, the convenient methods to adjust drowsiness and shedding in the process of meditation are also different, but these need the personal guidance of the moral guru. The key point of physical and mental adjustment in the process of meditation is that it should not be too tight or too loose, which requires self-control and long-term adjustment in the actual practice experience. Beginners should follow the order of practice, starting with the practice of four-way centrifugation and switching to initiation, guru yoga and so on. And practice in the form of meditation from above, and integrate the experience during meditation into daily life under the seat. Slowly, the mentality will gradually shift from the insatiable greed for the world in the past to liberation, and the merits of practicing good dharma, such as eccentricity, bodhicitta and confidence in the guru's three treasures, will naturally increase, and the meditation effort in the world will also increase. Nusilondo Rinpoche, the founder of the inheritance, said: "Although it is difficult to achieve standard silence by practicing Buddhism alone, it can be done completely." Even if you can't achieve the tranquility of desire, at least your inner troubles will be significantly reduced. On this basis, I will learn two practical techniques inherited by Longqin Ningti or Longsa, or practice the corresponding methods of the guru, so that my roots can gradually correspond to the methods. Beginners of meditation should pay special attention not to think that meditation, observation, chanting Buddha and other practices are just another kind of persistence after reading the book "Persistence is the root of reincarnation, and practice is to get rid of persistence", and live in a state of pure mindlessness for a long time. This kind of blind living will lead to many mistakes (which will be mentioned in the "Frequently Asked Questions of Meditation" later), but in fact it will only live in a state without memory. Because I don't do good or bad things, I have no enthusiasm to practice all kinds of good methods to accumulate wealth and remove obstacles. In daily life, we don't pay attention to carefully choosing cause and effect, and strictly observe precepts, so that inner centrifugal, bodhicitta and self-confidence can't be born, and meditation opinions can't be increased. This shows that my approach is biased. In order to ensure that one's meditation moves steadily in the right direction, it is very important for meditators to learn according to the requirements of inheritance, not to be smart enough to mix up various methods that one thinks are good, but to practice meditation according to one's own feelings.
