OB gene
OB gene is only expressed in adipose tissue, and its coding product leptin is a secreted protein, namely leptin, or leptin. Leptin is synthesized in adipose tissue and secreted into the blood, where it binds to its receptor LEPR.
LEPR gene
There are six kinds of leptin receptor * * *, which are widely distributed in brain, heart, liver, kidney, lung, spleen, pancreas, testis and adipose tissue. Leptin receptor transmits information to hypothalamus through a series of transmission pathways, which induces the expression of POMC gene in hypothalamic neurons to increase.
POMC gene
The POMC gene encodes a prohormone, protein's pro-melanocortin (POMC), which is decomposed into adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and α-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH), and binds to the hypothalamic melanocortin 4 receptor (MC4R).
