Development of injection mould at home and abroad
Injection mold is an important process equipment for producing various industrial products. With the rapid development of plastic mold design industry and the popularization and application of plastic products in aviation, aerospace, electronics, machinery, ships, automobiles and other fields, the requirements of products for molds are getting higher and higher, and the traditional plastic mold design methods can no longer meet the requirements of product upgrading and quality improvement.

Computer aided engineering (CAE) technology has become the most effective way to solve these weak links in plastic product development, mold design and product processing.

Moldflow, an American listed company, is a professional CAE software and consulting company for injection molding. Since 1976 released the first flow analysis software in the world, it has been leading the CAE software market for plastic molding.

In recent years, it has been widely used in automobile, household appliances, electronic communication, chemical industry, daily necessities and other fields.

By using CAE technology, the whole injection molding process can be analogized and analyzed on the computer before mold processing, and the filling, holding and cooling of the melt, as well as the stress distribution, molecular and fiber orientation distribution, shrinkage and warping deformation of the product can be accurately predicted, so that designers can find problems as soon as possible and modify the parts and mold design in time, instead of waiting for mold trial before mold repair.

This is not only a breakthrough in the traditional plastic mold design method, but also has important technical and economic significance for reducing or even avoiding the scrap of mold repair, improving product quality and reducing cost.

Plastic mold design should not only use CAD technology, but also use CAE technology.

This is the inevitable trend of development.

Injection molding is divided into two stages, namely, development/design stage (including product design, mold design and mold manufacturing) and production stage (including purchasing materials, mold testing and molding).

In the traditional injection molding method, the designer designs the mold according to experience and intuition before formal production. After the mold is assembled, it usually needs several mold trials. After finding the problem, it is necessary not only to reset the process parameters, but also to modify the design of plastic mold products and plastic molds, which will inevitably increase the production cost and prolong the product development cycle.
