Chinese medicine universities include Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, Chengdu University of Chinese Medicine, Shandong University of Chinese Medicine, Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine and Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine.
Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, referred to as "Beijing Medical University" for short, is a national key university specializing in Chinese medicine directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It was jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the National Health and Wellness Commission, state administration of traditional chinese medicine and Beijing.
It is the first batch of world-class discipline construction universities in China, the national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Engineering Superiority Discipline Innovation Platform" construction universities, the pilot universities for the reform of excellent doctor (Chinese medicine) education and training plan, the founding members of the world-class Chinese medicine university construction alliance and the Beijing excellent medical talent training university alliance.
Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine is the first batch of "world-class discipline construction universities" in China, a high-level university construction unit in Guangdong Province, a "2 1 1 project" construction university in Guangdong Province, the first batch of pilot universities for the reform of the education and training plan for excellent doctors (Chinese medicine) by the Ministry of Education, the first batch of universities for the reform of top-notch innovative talents in Chinese medicine, and the first batch of doctoral and master's degree awarding units in China. It has the exemption of master's recommendation.
