2020 is a very meaningful year for the intelligent transportation industry.

With the advent of the "new infrastructure" craze in the post-epidemic era, the word "smart transportation" frequently appears in media articles; The intensive outbreak of the domestic intelligent network demonstration zone is also stepping up the testing of various roads and vehicles.

In fact, the technology Internet giant Bath has been put in place in the field of smart transportation, and a technological change is also ready to go:

Different from the solutions of traditional transportation enterprises, the technical basis of these solutions is emerging technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, big data and AI technology. It is these emerging technologies that give more imagination to the digital transformation of transportation.

This paper attempts to sort out the latest layout of Bath in intelligent transportation and spy out where its tentacles extend in the transportation industry.

Before the topic of "new infrastructure" became popular in the transportation industry, artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and other information technologies have long been the key words developed by Bath in recent years.

But in the four competitions, Baidu Apollo's autonomous driving technology is obviously a unique and key existence.

Baidu's road to autonomous driving can be traced back to 20 13 at the earliest. After seven years of development and systematic iteration, Baidu has gradually become the leader of domestic autonomous driving.

However, the development of bicycle intelligence is difficult to meet the safety requirements of autonomous driving, so Baidu believes that the best solution for autonomous driving is the combination of smart cars and smart roads. In other words, vehicle-road coordination is an available external force.

In the process of exploring this technical route, Baidu found that the massive data collected in the field of autonomous driving can not only be used to guide the development of unmanned vehicles, but also empower traffic and solve the pain points of perception, judgment and control in current traffic management.

Therefore, in April this year, Baidu released the full-stack intelligent transportation solution "ACE Traffic Engine", which presented Baidu's business plan of "one digital foundation, two intelligent engines and n application ecosystems".

As can be seen from the route, small-scale car OS, flying paddle, Baidu AI cloud and Baidu map are the digital foundation of this architecture, and other scenes are empowered by the intelligence of basic technologies such as cars, roads, clouds and maps.

Apollo autopilot and vehicle-road coordination are the two engines of this architecture.

Through these technical foundations, Baidu's solutions can be implemented in N scenarios, such as intelligent information control, intelligent parking, traffic management, intelligent public transportation, intelligent freight transportation, intelligent car association, intelligent rental, autonomous parking, and park species.

It can be seen that Baidu's understanding of intelligent transportation is not limited to the transformation and upgrading of roadside, but links autonomous driving, vehicle-road coordination and unified map of intelligent cloud through its own business segment.

With the help of the "Ace Traffic Engine", Baidu Apollo Intelligent Transportation Project has recently ushered in a concentrated outbreak, and has carried out intelligent transportation cooperation with more than 10 provinces and cities in China.

In such a dense city cooperation signing, "automatic driving" and "vehicle-road coordination" are high-frequency words. It can be seen that autonomous driving is really helpful for Baidu's landing in smart transportation projects.

But just as the realization of autonomous driving cannot be achieved by one enterprise alone, the development of intelligent transportation cannot be supported by only one enterprise.

Baidu is also actively looking for intelligent transportation partners.

On August 19 this year, Baidu also held the first regional partner conference in the field of intelligent transportation to attract more transportation partners and continuously promote the iterative upgrade and business landing of intelligent transportation technology.

At this point, Baidu Apollo's card in the field of intelligent transportation is very clear: one hand is the "trump card traffic engine" scheme to attract urban cooperation, and the other hand is the expanding Baidu Apollo cooperation ecology, which is expected to form a virtuous circle.

All along, Tencent has a lot of tentacles at the transportation level: Tencent bus code, public travel service, smart high-speed, smart parking and so on. But there is always a lack of a systematic framework.

Therefore, on September 10, Tencent officially unveiled the urban intelligent transportation solution "We Transport" at the smart transportation special session of the Global Digital Ecology Conference.

At the same time, Tencent directly launched the Smart Transportation Eco-Partner Program at the meeting and released the "Tencent Future Transportation White Paper".

It can be seen that whether it is a technical business spectrum or an ecological partner, Tencent is bound to win.

Judging from the solution "We Transport", Tencent will land in four specific scenarios: traffic construction, traffic management, traffic operation and traffic travel service.

This is a very large and scattered industrial chain.

In this regard, Tencent integrated its own business resources and put forward a brand-new business and capability map. It includes dynamic database and "5+5+3+3 architecture".

The dynamic database contains both Tencent's own data and traffic data, thus obtaining a continuous data source.

At the same time, through the "5+5+3+3 strategic framework", we can make full use of the information in the whole database and provide it to all cities or regions.

The "5+5+3+3 Strategic Framework" consists of five infrastructures, five core engines, three capability platforms and three ecosystems.

This series of operations is done in one go, and it is not difficult to see Tencent's vision of making great efforts in the field of smart transportation under the background of new infrastructure.

Of course, Tencent has not accumulated in the past.

In the field of autonomous driving and vehicle-road coordination, Tencent has verified the vehicle-road coordination scenario of 5G edge computing in Beijing Shougang Winter Olympics Park.

At the level of virtual simulation technology, Tencent's TAD sim has also landed in the National Intelligent Networked Automobile (Changsha) Experimental Zone;

Previously, Tencent and Guangzhou Metro jointly launched the country's first rail transit intelligent brain "Sui Teng OS";

In June this year, Tencent also reached a strategic cooperation with Xi 'an Transportation Bureau to build a smart brain in Xi 'an public transportation field.

In July, Tencent and the Highway Institute of the Ministry of Communications jointly released the "Big Data Platform for Public Transport Travel" to promote the integrated application of traffic big data in the development of the transportation industry.

Through resource integration, Tencent's ability and planning in intelligent transportation are more obvious, and it is more attractive and competitive in project cooperation and ecological construction.

In fact, Huawei entered the transportation field in 20 17. On 20 18, Huawei launched a "TrafficGo scheme" focusing on traffic signal optimization.

On June 5438+ 10 of the same year, Huawei Cloud ei City agent went online, and became an integral part of the city agent together with emergency, environmental protection, water affairs, water conservancy, gas and other scenarios.

However, in the following more than a year, Huawei's smart traffic information mostly stayed in the new product release stage.

It was not until June 23 this year that Huawei revealed more information and introduced its "traffic proxy" solution in detail on the Internet for the first time.

"Traffic Agent" is the banner of Huawei's smart traffic police business. It is an end-to-end complete solution for traffic police customers, smart cities and new infrastructure.

According to Xin Zhijia, this scheme is mainly divided into three parts: perception layer, traffic control brain and executor.

On the perception level, Huawei has laid out products and solutions such as software-defined camera SDC and cross-departmental intersection. Through the intelligent upgrade of the sensing end, the holographic sensing of the road network (all-intelligent, all-factor, all-weather) is realized, and the accurate depiction of intersection data is realized;

On the other hand, the "traffic management brain" layer mines view resources through the aggregation of perceptual data, and empowers seven businesses, such as law enforcement and control, vehicle comprehensive judgment, road condition analysis, situation analysis, accurate service, traffic organization optimization, and credit control optimization strategy.

Finally, at the execution level, based on the serial application of big data intelligence, the closed-loop management of traffic services is realized.

At present, Huawei's "traffic agent" has been applied in Tianjin, Wuxi, Shenzhen, Hunan and other cities.

It can be seen that, unlike Baidu and Tencent, Huawei's smart transportation scheme is more vertical and deeper in hardware.

But this does not mean that Huawei's layout in smart transportation only has actions on the traffic police side.

Smart car is a core component of intelligent transportation in the future, and Huawei has also made great efforts on it.

At the Beijing Auto Show on September 26th, Huawei fully demonstrated its automobile layout.

On the booth, Huawei exhibited products including lidar, angle radar, binocular camera, fisheye camera, integrated electric drive system, and a new generation of MDC intelligent driving computing platform, covering almost all the hardware involved in intelligent driving cars.

From perception, planning to control, these hardware are undoubtedly crucial for building a smart car.

Previously, Lu Xiaofeng, president of Huawei's C-V2X product line, said: Smart roads+smart cars are the ultimate direction of intelligent transportation and autonomous driving.

Therefore, in addition to building smart car hardware, Huawei has also developed a series of vehicle-road collaborative products: 5G vehicle module MH5000, road test unit, gateway and other products.

In terms of autonomous driving, in addition to the MDC intelligent driving computing platform independently developed, Huawei can also provide autonomous driving cloud services including virtual simulation and high-precision map products to promote the rapid development of intelligent driving.

Although these capabilities are scattered in different organizational structures, they are still an indispensable core component of Huawei's intelligent transportation framework.

Like Huawei, Ali's smart transportation business segment also belongs to different organizational structures.

As an exploratory project to improve urban traffic congestion, Hangzhou Urban Data Brain Project was launched in June 2065438+2006. Among them, traffic brain is the core business of Alibaba Cloud city brain, which goes hand in hand with urban management, cultural tourism, health and other businesses.

During the period of 20 14-20 19, Ali laid out the traffic brain through wholly-owned acquisition of Gaode map (positioning navigation), joint venture to set up Chihiro location (high-precision map) and acquisition of whale technology (operator ICT, transportation).

20 19, 19 On August 5th, Alibaba Cloud jointly launched "Urban Brain? Joint solution for traffic management. " This joint traffic control scheme mainly includes: three-tier architecture, four core capabilities and six application scenarios.

In addition, four AI vision platforms, Tianyao, Tianying, Tianji and Tianqing, launched by Alibaba Cloud can fully perceive traffic incidents and accidents on urban roads.

But Alibaba Cloud's smart transportation scheme is far more than that.

On June 4th, 20 19, Alibaba Cloud and Gaode Map launched a smart high-speed solution. Through the underlying data processing and video perception, the problems in different scenarios in expressway were handled, and the applications of abnormal events discovery and disposal, future road condition prediction, public travel guidance and travel safety management were realized.

In the same year, during the Yun Qi Conference in Hangzhou, Alibaba Cloud, together with several eco-partners, released an intelligent high-speed traffic-free solution. Based on this scheme, the "high-speed flow-free audit project" officially landed in Guangdong at the end of 20 19.

This project adopts Alibaba Cloud's cloud computing, AI vision recognition and data technology, which can quickly process massive data, accurately identify vehicles in massive pictures, more clearly reflect the actual traffic and charges of vehicles in expressway, and solve the problems caused by the cancellation of high-speed toll stations.

In terms of smart cars, the automotive business resources of Ali Intelligent Networked are mainly concentrated in the zebra network.

In May 2020, Zebra Network realized strategic reorganization, and Ali injected AliOS's complete technical system and core technical talents into Zebra Network. The latter has the complete ownership and use right of AliOS underlying architecture code, and can authorize automobile brands or their designated partners to use it.

At the more advanced level of autonomous driving, it is the responsibility of the Dharma Institute in Ali.

At the 2020 Yun Qi Conference, Ali released the first self-driving logistics vehicle, Xiaoman Donkey, to meet the logistics needs of the terminal logistics scene and provide the delivery service for the last three kilometers.

At the same time, Ali also announced the technical map of self-driving vehicles.

On the algorithm level, Dharma Institute proposed an algorithm architecture of "small foreground, large and medium platform", and used AutoDrive, a self-driving machine learning platform, to improve the efficiency of algorithm research and development. At the same time, Ali also carried out software and hardware collaborative design to reduce hardware costs and power consumption.

Generally speaking, although Ali has not formed a unified business map of smart cars, autonomous driving and traffic brains, the positioning and development of each sector are very clear and in-depth, and resources are shared with each other.

Its internal ecology includes Dharma Institute, Gaode Map, Data Intelligence, IoT and other teams, and its external partners include Qian Fang Science and Technology, Giant Whale Technology, Zebra Network, Chihiro Location, Highway Science Research Institute and so on.

Through internal and external linkage, Ali's layout in large traffic can also be outlined.

With the implementation of intelligent transportation plan, the traditional transportation industry is being reshaped. But for the transportation industry, how to upgrade, ensure safety and improve efficiency is the real key. Only by carefully polishing these two points on the product can players gain a foothold on the track and look to the future.
