About the basic skills of street dance ~
brief introduction

Hip Hop (English name) originated in new york, USA, and was the product of jazz dance in 1990s. Its movements are various combinations of walking, running and jumping, which are varied. It is made up of joints such as head, neck, shoulders, upper limbs and trunk through flexion and extension, rotation, rotation, sparkling and wave-like twisting. Every movement has its specific fitness effect, which not only pays attention to the coordination between upper and lower limbs, abdomen and back, head and trunk, but also pays attention to the independent movement of each part. Therefore, street dance not only has the functions of improving heart and lung function, reducing fat, enhancing muscle elasticity and enhancing ligament flexibility, but also has the functions of coordinating muscle groups in various parts of the human body, shaping beautiful posture, improving human coordination ability and cultivating aesthetic feeling.

Hip-hop is a street culture developed by African-Americans, and it is a kind of exercise to vent emotions. It is characterized by strong explosive force, and the movements of limbs are exaggerated compared with other dances. The most attractive thing is to bring a warm feeling with the vitality of the whole body.

Hip-hop makes people pay attention, have strong interest, and act beautifully and casually. At the same time, street dance also has the function of slimming, because street dance is a low-intensity aerobic exercise, and the function of consuming whole body fat is quite strong in an hour's exercise. In addition, street dance is a small muscle exercise. Regular practice can increase the coordination of your whole body and make your body proportion more standard.

classify

Based on action, hip-hop can be divided into two categories: hip-hop and break dancing. Street dance can generally be divided into two types, one is personal skill street dance. Personal Skills Hip-hop is the earliest popular hip-hop because it can reflect the energetic side of young people. Many of their ground movements, such as somersault, handstand and bouncing, are high-skilled personal hip-hop performances. The other is group street dance, which is a popular form of street dance at present. It reflects the needs of the public, and it is relatively simple to jump and has a strong sense of rhythm. It has both the feeling of dancing and the function of fitness. Therefore, collective street dance is more common at present.

Open circuit:

Skillful street dance requires dancers to have high strength, flexibility and coordination. It is a highly skilled sports dance, so it was first loved by domestic teenagers. Teenagers who dance this type of dance are called B-Boy/B-Girl.

In 1980s, DJ Kool Herc, known as the "father of hip-hop", created the concept of B-Boy, also known as Breaking Boy. Every year, many countries in the world hold some competitions for B-Boys, the most famous of which are the annual BOTY (Battle of the Year) and the B-Boys Championship held in Britain. Hundreds of players from more than 65,438+00 countries will take part in such activities. The winner of the competition will soon become famous and become the star of teenagers.

Hip hop music:

The Chinese translation of the word hip-hop is Hip-Hop, which was born in new york 1974 and was invented by Starski, a famous DJ and MC lover. At the end of 1960s and the beginning of 1970s, a series of black cultural and artistic forms appeared in American East Coast cities headed by new york, including graffiti or writing, B-Boying, record playing (DJ or Deejay, DJ means disc jockey, that is, the person who controls records) and rap (MCing or MC).

The word Hip-Hop was originally rhymed by love bug Starski in rap. Hip means ass, and Hop means jumping. Together, it can be interpreted as jumping ass. In the early 1980s, Affri Bambaataa, the godfather of hip-hop, borrowed the word hip-hop to refer to the black urban cultural movement represented by the above four cultural forms, and it was quickly and widely accepted. The above four cultures became the four elements of hip-hop.

Hip-hop is translated into hip-hop and rap is translated into rap. These two concepts are different. Hip-Hop is actually not a musical term, but a cultural term, including rap, graffiti, street dance and DJ disc playing. Singing originated in the 1960s, while hip-hop as a musical understanding originated in the early 1970s. Its predecessor is RAP (sometimes with a little R(B)).

Literally, Hip-Hop is Hip, Hop is hop, and together it is Hip-waking. At first, it refers to the budding hip-hop (that is, we used to talk about break dancing), and then it gradually developed into a huge concept-the hip-hop culture we are talking about now also includes loose clothes, heavy pure gold ornaments, and "YoYo?" What's the matter? "Oral habits-in short, it is the lifestyle and their" style "of black people in poor neighborhoods in the United States.

There are many styles of dancing street dance, such as Poping, Locking, Electric, Turbo, House and so on. They don't need higher skills such as breaking, but they need more coordination and sense of dance, as well as flexibility and control of their limbs. Good hip-hop dancers also need to practice hard. Because street dance is not as skillful and competitive as breaking, it has not been paid enough attention by street dance lovers before. Now with the enhancement of dance concept, this situation has changed, and even B-Boy has begun to practice, and many all-round hip-hop players have appeared.

Hip-hop is a kind of dance that people often contact. It has big and simple steps, and can show a complex sense of dance. Because it is easy to learn and beautiful to jump, it is very popular with the public.

POPING:

Mechanical dance, using the muscles and joints of all parts of the body, with the beat of music and rich imagination, creates amazing dance steps. It belongs to the more difficult street dance type.

Freestyle:

This is a great dance step, mixing all kinds of dances together and performing at will. There is no limit to the style of dance, which is out of the norm of general dance. It can be said that it is personalized street dance.

House:

With House music, a kind of dance step is complicated and magical, which can be combined with the basic dance steps of Latin dance, martial arts somersault, tap dance and ballet circle. It can be elegant or quite wild.

New Jazz (for girls only):

This is a dance developed from jazz, specially for girls to dance. It pays great attention to femininity and instant bursting. Give priority to with arm movements, supplemented by waist twisting hip movements. It requires a high figure and is very popular in Europe, America and South Korea. Music is rhythm jazz.

RAGREA (reggae, only for girls):

It is said that this dance originated in France, and some people say that it originated in the United States. It's a sexy dance, and the dancers are naked, mainly using the movements of the lower body, mainly using the hips, waist and legs. There will be some simple handstands and shaking the thighs in the air. It has developed well in Japan, where the porn industry is developed. And normal interpretation is sexy.

Hip-hop is in China.

Teenagers in China first came into contact with street dance from the American film "Break Dance" in 1980s, when the break dance was the predecessor of the current break dance. With the deepening of China teenagers' understanding of hip-hop, they gradually return to the origin of hip-hop and practice hip-hop in China with their own vision and characteristics.

In addition to early break dancing, teenagers all over the country began to practice street dance in the mid-1990s. In Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, street dance started earlier because of the developed information. In Zhengzhou, Henan Province, because of the close relationship between martial arts culture in the Central Plains and street dance, break dancing also started earlier. Nowadays, teenagers are practicing street dance all over the country, and they can get together for training in the street squares of various cities. They also often organize small competitions (fighting, ballastless dancing/spell dancing), and the dancers with the best kung fu can win the respect of many teenagers.

Teenagers' enthusiasm for street dance has led to a large number of applications of street dance from culture and art to commercial advertisements. We can see that in the music videos of Jay Chou, Jordan chan, Elva Hsiao, Wen Lan and many other famous artists, the heroic stamping of the courtyard frequently appears. The commercial advertising circles of Nike, Li Ning, Season 5, Huiyuan, Gemdale, Nokia and other brands adopt hip-hop modeling, which frequently bombards the vision of young consumers. At the beginning of 2003, Notre Dame de Paris, a dance drama staged in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, used a lot of street dance moves and formed a unique cultural landscape.

With the rise of national fitness activities, street dance, as a fitness sport, has also entered the fitness centers of major cities. Many professional practitioners of dance, drama and acrobatics also began to practice street dance, which is widely spread in various art colleges. On the university campus, many dance clubs have been organized to practice street dance. It is common for middle school students to engage in street dance activities in their spare time, and a unique youth community culture has been formed in the residential quarters of major cities. Five sports channels of CCTV set up hip-hop teaching programs as early as a few years ago (although pure hip-hop is not taught), and three dance worlds also broadcast invited hip-hop special programs shot by the North Ballroom before the Spring Festival in 2003. As a popular cultural and sports activity among teenagers, street dance has been widely spread throughout the country.

What should I pay attention to when practicing street dance for the first time?

Beginners of street dance must not increase the amount of exercise at once, but step by step. Usually do warm-up activities first, fully exercise all joints and ligaments of the body, especially knees and ankles, to avoid injury when jumping; Then enter a certain intensity and time of practice, preferably not less than 30 minutes; Finally, use various stretching exercises to relax the body. Only in this way can we achieve better slimming effect.

Because everyone's age, physique and health are different, everyone's exercise intensity is also different. "Exercise intensity" is generally expressed as "maximum heart rate", so you should calculate the most suitable heart rate when dancing street dance:

If you are 25 years old and don't often take part in physical exercise, and your physical fitness is average, then your maximum heart rate is 220-25 = 195, and the appropriate exercise intensity (exercise heart rate) should be (60-75%) ×195 =195.

Looking for the feeling of dancing street dance

Usually, the most difficult thing for us to dance HIP-HOP is feeling. So how can we practice this feeling?

Step 1: First of all, you must love HIP-HOP several times more than others.

Step 2: Go to a nearby music studio or video store and buy a CD or tape of hip-hop dance music.

Step 3: Choose the best bass around you (in order to practice your sense of music better).

Step 4: Choose the music that makes your heart beat the most from the bought CDs.

Step 5: Turn up the music as much as possible and follow the music! Big! Practice the shoulders first (let the shoulders only shake up and down); You will feel bored at first, but when dancing HIP-HOP, the shoulder is the most important feeling part.

Step 6: Continue the previous step and practice the up-and-down elasticity of legs and knees.

Step 7: Practice the left and right legs backward step by step with the music, and also practice the forward movement.

Step 8: Practice the flexibility of hand joints (from fingertips to shoulders like waves, both hands should practice).

Step 9: Practice your toes. Follow the music and practice walking with only your toes. Bounce back and forth, left and right with your toes. In this way, your feelings will also go up a storey still higher. When practicing this step, you must be careful not to let all your feet touch the ground.

Step 10: Combine all the above steps and shake your whole body at will, so that your hip-hop has a foundation.

Usually you'd better prepare a bigger mirror from the beginning, and it's better to practice in front of it. When you start, you will feel bored and tired. Because street dance is not a vigorous dance, but it is as tiring as vigorous dance, so we must have perseverance and keep practicing. Some people may feel nothing in practice, but don't think you have no talent. Many famous dancers were born suddenly while walking or inadvertently. So you can also become a spokesperson for hip-hop through practice.

Specific practice methods

POPPIN is very strong as long as he uses his limbs flexibly. Don't jump POPPIN until your limbs have become POP, because the foundation is unstable and you will never learn well. Even if you imitate an action and jump out, people in the industry will feel ugly at first sight, and POPPIN is no bigger than anyone else, otherwise the whole body will POP. When you pop up, the output point should be short and large. The more relaxed POPPIN is, the better it looks, so it looks very thin. Many people will use the sudden drop of the upper shoulder to drive the POP of muscles in various parts during practice. This practice method can't be said to be incorrect, but POP is not good-looking. More importantly, what needs to be added is that when you just practice, you will feel that your movements are very few. In fact, this is not a problem, as long as you dance for a long time. I feel good. I put my body into music. It doesn't matter if I repeat some actions in a song. What matters is the feeling. Dance to the music, be in tune, as long as you can dance to the music and play a song.

First, the method of hand exercises

1, put your hands in a posture much like riding a horse, and put your fingers down to feel relaxed.

2. Then you press your wrist down, but let the finger part go up. When you press your wrist down, do you see a concave hole in your forearm, that is, a small hole in the shaft (just practice it repeatedly)

3. When practicing, look at the upper part of your hand and see if the muscles explode. If yes, see if the connection between the chest and the arm is beating, and if the muscles in the back are beating. When the wrist is pressed down, the chest muscles are beating slightly, but it should be noted that the chest muscles are not jumping forward, but jumping upward. If you have the above points, you are right.

It is estimated that the beating of back muscles may not come out at the beginning of training, but forced training is still possible. It should be noted that when practicing hands, don't exert force on your shoulders, all the force is on your wrist. Please try to see if you can feel it.

It is natural that the practice of this hand should be coordinated with the practice of the upper foot.

Second, the practice of soaking feet

In fact, the thump in the footsteps is actually the thump in the crotch. Many people find it so complicated and difficult to practice. In fact, the practice of crotch is easier than the practice of hands. Just don't feel too complicated. Try to keep it simple. The simpler the better, pay attention to your knees.

1, you stand up first, then your knees lean forward slightly, which is a bit like sitting down.

2, you start from the first point, stand up slowly from this action, remember to straighten your feet slowly, but don't use force.

3. Stand up slowly. When your feet are about to stand up straight, you suddenly straighten your feet hard and fast (that is, your knees are backward). Has this kind of repeated practice become popular? Remember never to use any force or retract your ass. That's an incorrect practice method. Let's try to think simply.

It is natural that this kind of foot exercise should be coordinated with the upper limb exercise.

Third, head shots.

In fact, it is really difficult to explain the first part of the exercise by typing! In fact, it is an effect of the force on the head at 45 degrees.

When we meet acquaintances on the road, we often say "hello". Remember, the POP on the head is a bit like "hello". How can I put it? When you are calling someone "hello", is your head a little upward, that is, that "point" is actually POP, but you should work hard and finish it in a short time. Attention is to keep the original relaxed expression first, suddenly ask someone to feed you, and learn the POP in your mind after repeated practice. Do you feel something? But don't push your chin. It's on the back of your head. Can you follow me?

Fourth, hold out your chest

No need to practice chest. (But the real one-chest electric shock needs practice. When you straighten your waist for the first time, you will feel a little sore. Pay attention to your chest, and then suddenly POP when you relax slowly, but this POP is not waist strength, and the waist is straight just for the sake of being more beautiful when you POP! )

supplement

Finally, I would like to add some views of Popper: BOKY at the domestic level:

1。 POP on the arm mainly uses triceps brachii and brachioradialis muscle. You can try this action: hold the wall with your five fingers, and then push the wall with your palm (pay attention to the natural bending of the elbow joint, and don't straighten it hard). The muscle group used in this action is roughly the POP position on the arm.

2。 The muscles of the chest walk vertically upwards. Because it should be noted that few explosion points will be completed by stretching the joints. So on the other hand, pectoralis major does not go up, which is bound to participate in the bending of spinal joints. In addition, the POP of chest muscles and the POP of neck muscles are generally completed at the same time. It can be understood this way. When the chest muscles go up, keep the head in the original position or press down slightly, which naturally compresses the muscles in the neck. In addition, how to exercise neck muscles? Everyone tries to pronounce two sounds, one is "Oh". When this mouth is stretched to the maximum, it naturally tightens the sternocleidomastoid muscle. The other is "ha". This mouth shape can tighten levator scapulae and scapulohyoid muscles to the maximum extent. These three muscles are an important source of neck thumping.

3。 Open your legs. This is the only POP that needs to be done with joints. Because it is difficult to tighten the muscles of all parts of the thigh when the knee is naturally bent. In addition, it should be added that the POP in the lower plate is not only made of thigh muscles. In some specific movements, the muscles of the hips and lower back will also use POP.

The way hip-hop dresses.

In the busy city streets, we can sometimes see that many young people like to wear this way: a wide sweater or an oversized sports coat directly covers their hips, the upper body overlaps inside and outside, the waistband hangs low on the crotch, the trouser legs are directly supported on the ground, and the trouser legs are stacked on the heels, so that the whole person can be safely hidden in a tight clothing cover.

This comfortable and humorous dress style actually comes from African-American families. Originally, in order to save money, brothers and sisters were allowed to wear big clothes worn by brothers and sisters. Over time, such a loose street feeling has been formed.

With the popularity of extreme sports such as Hip——Hop and skateboarding by black people from all over the world, this dress style, which is deeply loved by black musicians and street sportsmen, has also begun to be loved by young people all over the world.

The typical wearing styles of HIP-HOP mainly include: a wide T-shirt with exaggerated Logo, similarly wide casual pants, jeans or sweatpants with side zippers, basketball shoes or workers' boots, fisherman's hats or baseball caps, headscarves with ethnic patterns, and hair dyed into ears of wheat or braided. Corresponding accessories include tattoo Tatoo, silver earrings or nose rings, arm rings, matrix sunglasses, MD walkman, scooter, backpack Back-pack, etc. Together, these sporadic clothes form a hip-hop fashion that has been popular in the United States for 20 years.

When you see a boy dressed like this in the street, he has knitted a long black hair, a long-sleeved cotton shirt, a short-sleeved baseball T-shirt, extra-wide sweatpants, a nail-thick steel bar passing through his left ear bone, a pair of foggy silver headphones hanging around his neck, a pair of skateboarding shoes to strengthen ankle protection and a big square backpack. In any case, they all look like children of Chinese Americans who have just come to visit their relatives. Don't be surprised, this must be a hip-hop fan!

However, as long as you carefully observe, it is not difficult to find that these typical hip-hop costumes can not be called "fresh". In fact, big T-shirts can be seen everywhere, and wide casual pants are not new. Pant jeans have been used by little girls to match tight T-shirts in recent years, and basketball shoes and workers' boots are even more common, not to mention baseball caps, headscarves, earrings, backpacks or sunglasses. Among all hip-hop devices, the only relatively new one is the scooter, but most children born in the 1970s should remember the "shaved ice" they used to play in kindergarten. It is also a high handlebar, with front and rear wheels and a single pedal in the middle, which is exactly the same as the popular scooter today. Therefore, hip-hop fashion, which seems fresh, is actually not so fresh.

It's not easy to reassemble those ordinary clothes and wear that unprecedented hip-hop feeling. What exactly is Hip-hopStyle? The answer is simple and clear: "You need to feel that way." In short, it is the word "feeling", but to put it more thoroughly, this word includes natural artistic talent, feeling for music and dance, keen sense of touch and taste, very outgoing personality, excellent English ability and sense of humor. In other words, people who want to maximize the feeling of hip-hop are very cool newcomers. Find an English word to describe it, and the most appropriate one is "Smart".

So, if you don't think your self-cultivation has reached the above level, then don't try hip-hop that you haven't felt in place yet, otherwise it will only make people feel awkward and unnatural. If it is seen by those who have already cultivated hip-hop, it will undoubtedly make people laugh.

[Origin of Street Dance]

Dance is a kind of folk dance, which arose among African-American teenagers in 1980s and is a part of African-American "hip hop". Because this kind of dance appears in the street, regardless of the venue equipment, it is called hip-hop, which has strong participation, performance and competitiveness. In the gradual development, street dance teenagers have formed an ideology and behavior. They use street dance to publicize their individuality, show the vitality and passion of youth and express their enterprising attitude towards life. They emphasize the concept of "being yourself, enjoying life and being brave in challenges".

~ the development of hip-hop in Japan and South Korea

With the popularity of hip-hop culture in the world, hip-hop has spread rapidly around the world. Street dance was introduced to Japan when it was formed, and then to South Korea. The Japanese created and developed many new forms of street dance, and paid more attention to dance. Koreans have integrated hip-hop into their own understanding and created a hip-hop variant culture with national characteristics: youthful and beautiful song and dance combinations, melodious and fast-paced music, concise and neat dances, gorgeous and exaggerated shapes ... This culture has been popular in China since 1997 and is called "Korean Wave". This hip-hop variant culture in Japan and South Korea has formed a strong cultural influence on other Asian countries.

~ types of street dance

Based on action, hip-hop can be divided into two categories: hip-hop and break dancing.

Break: Skilled street dance requires dancers to have high strength, flexibility and coordination. It belongs to a highly skilled sports dance, so it was first loved by domestic teenagers. Teenagers who dance this type of dance are called B-Boy/B-Girl.

In 1980s, DJ Kool Herc, known as the "father of hip-hop", created the concept of B-Boy, also known as Breaking Boy. Every year, many countries in the world have some competitions against B-boys. The most famous are the annual BOTY and the B-BoyChampion held in England. Hundreds of players from more than 65,438+00 countries will take part in such activities. The winner of the competition will soon become famous and become the star of teenagers.

Hip-Hop: Dance-style hip-hop, which has many styles, such as Poping, Locking, Electric, Turbo, House and so on.

~ the evolution of street dance

According to the characteristics of the times, hip-hop can be divided into two categories: old school and new school. The former is a hip-hop style in the 1980s, and the latter is produced in the 1990s, which has undergone considerable changes in music and movements.

old-fashioned

Old-school music has a very fast beat to match the unconventional movements, and then with the evolution of hip-hop music, the rhythm of hip-hop slows down, and the unconventional movements are not suitable. Because if you do something like car or footwork in this slow hip-hop music, you will not feel explosive at all, and even lose your sense of dance. At this time, the dance of the old school and the new school began to separate, which was about 1986.

The dance steps of the early new school are very simple, such as the familiar "running man", which can be seen in the music videos of MC Hammer and Babby Brown. This hot street dance is also called fashionable dance. But from the present point of view, these hip-hop dances, which were all the rage during the period of MC Hammer and Babby Brown, have gradually become old-fashioned.

The emergence of new schools

1At the beginning of 992, a black dance group called Mop Top (composed of Henry Link, Songjie and Foshen) developed a new style of street dance, an "original street dance". Unlike the big movements and large-scale movements in the period of MC Hammer and Babby Brown, there is no gymnastics-like movement in break dancing. Its unique style is to pay attention to the coordination of the body (we call it rhythm), pay attention to the rhythm of the upper body, and add a lot of hand movements, instead of paying attention to the big movements and footwork movements like the old hip-hop. So, Michael, Henry's new dance style was used in Jackson's "Remember Time" MTV, which immediately set off a wave. Later, Mary Kelly's dream girl song MTV used a richer new school dance, mixing locking, Poping and Wave. At that time, it was difficult for people to determine what kind of dance it was, but it was a very important section in the history of the development of new hip-hop and the origin of the new school's popularity all over the world.

The mature stage of the new school

Hip-hop in the new school is a mixture of different types of dances, including adagio hip-hop or R&; This song shows this. This is the early form of the new school. Henry and others simplified many Locking movements, used standard hip-hop rhythm to express Poping and locking, and sometimes added Wave to the dance. Simply put, it is to interpret these old dance steps with new feelings. Later, Henry worked as a dance director in Mary Kelly's songs Fantasy and Later Sweetheart. Hip-Hop has begun to mature in the popular female hip-hop group TLC's song Creep and the movie MIB's MTV.

Now the new school street dance

When this new Hip-Hop became popular in Japan, the Japanese developed another dance style of their own, that is, dancing the new Hip-Hop with old-school music. The new school originally used a new musical style to express the old dance, but now it has become an old musical style to interpret the new dance. In terms of movement, the recent new Hip-Hop has changed a lot, with severe body distortion and no so-called rules in dance.

~ Street dance is in China

Teenagers in China first came into contact with hip-hop, starting from the American film "Break Dance" in 1980s, when the break dance was the predecessor of the current break dance.
