Running on a horizontal road will be considered as a "light load", and it will naturally shift into a high-end gear with a relatively small transmission ratio, so that although the torque of the car is a little smaller, it can run faster and farther with the same fuel consumption. There are even some sections with a little downhill, where you can slide in the gap. That is to say, people can adjust the throttle and transmission ratio according to the load and speed, so as to maximize the power of the engine, make the car fast when it is fast, and have large torque when it encounters large resistance, so as to maximize the power of fuel output.
On the other hand, the scooter only uses centrifugal force to mechanically adjust the speed ratio between the front and rear transmission groups according to the rotational speed, regardless of the load. No matter what the situation is, the problem of the car's progress is solved by turning the throttle, and there is no way to distinguish between a flat road and a slope road. Some burning oil is wasted and the power of the engine cannot be maximized.
Many scooters can only start automatically when the engine speed exceeds 4,000 rpm. If they run a little, the speed is 6,000-7,000 rpm, while the knight's car can be put into gear at 2,000 rpm, and 6,000 rpm is often a medium-high speed of 60 yards. In contrast, scooters have high starting consumption, high idle speed and great loss.
The belt drive also adopts stepless speed change. During the speed change, there will be friction between the belt and the transmission plate, and the damping parameters will also change with the change of temperature. If there is entrainment damping after wear, a large part of the engine energy will be consumed on the belt. It is said that 30-40% of the fuel is wasted on this drive belt system.
However, some high-grade pedals in the market also use the structure of torsion cam to detect the load of the car, so this load factor is added to comprehensively control the engine transmission ratio together with the speed, and the fuel consumption is much lower.
In the past, scooters basically used vacuum membrane isobaric carburetor to supply oil. The advantage of this carburetor is that you won't cause the so-called lean-burn working state because the negative pressure in the throat is too low. After all, it is common for scooters to step on the accelerator without gear, and the vacuum film carburetor can ensure smooth refueling. However, this carburetor is too complicated and has high fuel consumption, so it is generally impossible to adjust the oil needle and mixing ratio. Often designed to be very oily, to put it bluntly, it is very thick, and of course, the fuel consumption is also high. Many carburetor scooters consume 3-3.5 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
Now the EFI motorcycle has come out, which has changed the fuel supply state. EFI is a positive pressure fuel supply, which can solve the problem of fuel shortage when the throttle turns sharply, and can adjust the mixing ratio according to the working conditions, so the fuel consumption will be relatively reduced.
Scooter chassis is low. Considering comfort, tires tend to be thick and fat, and even look like south paws. The off-road ability is poor, the resistance is great, and the fuel consumption is of course high. And it won't be like a knight's car driving on its stomach when it is fast, and the wind resistance will definitely be high.
