Moxibustion is a long cylindrical roll made of moxa wrapped in cotton paper, which is mainly used for moxibustion. Moxibustion is one of the oldest medical technologies in China, which belongs to the external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine. It can warm channels and dispel cold, promote qi and blood circulation, dispel cold and remove dampness. It is suitable for arthralgia due to wind-cold-dampness, muscle numbness, joint and limb pain, and cervical spondylosis.
The moxa stick in Dongting is the best, with thick and fluffy leaves, which is the first-class raw material for making Ai Jinrong in past dynasties. Dongting has a superior geographical location and is known as the "land of plenty". The climate is humid, the wormwood is dense and full of vitality. The superior moxa stick made of it is most suitable for moxibustion, which has won the trust of imperial doctors in history and is widely used in the court. From 65438 to 0973, the excavation of Mawangdui No.3 Han Tomb in Changsha, Hunan, China was a major archaeological discovery that subverted history. Among the unearthed cultural relics, there are three silk books recording meridian moxibustion, which are precious medical documents earlier than Compendium of Materia Medica and Neijing, greatly promoting people's understanding of moxibustion in traditional Chinese medicine. Through these three incomplete texts, we can get a glimpse of the origin, methods and applications of ancient people treating diseases with moxa sticks, which have been widely used in clinic in history. Moxibustion and moxa-making technology in Hunan have made great contributions to the prosperity of the Chinese nation, thus establishing Hunan's historical position in the development of moxa-making technology.
