She said, "Teacher, can I apply for something else?" I really can't hold on any longer! I have a headache every time I read a book. I really can't finish it! "
After listening to what she said, I asked her, "What do you like?"
She said, "I like cooking."
So I said to her, "That's ok, just buy some books about cooking and share some cooking skills you have learned with the group, ok?"
She was very happy after listening to it, and then insisted on reading the clock very well all summer.
After reading the story that happened to me above, I wonder if you have found out how to make reading interesting and stick to it? That is to read the books that interest you first, and then record them and share them.
If you know that reading more books is really useful, but you really can't stick to it, even if you stick to it, you can't remember it. It must be something wrong with your reading method.
Recently, I read a book called "How to read a book effectively-super practical note reading method". The author of this book, Xiao Ye Kenzo, is a Japanese best-selling author in the workplace. He has worked in publishing houses and newspapers, so he has accumulated a lot of unique opinions on information collection and arrangement. The published data arrangement and intelligent creation methods are especially praised by business people, with a cumulative sales volume of over 500,000 copies.
Regardless of work or interest, he insists on using a notebook. His other works include How to Write Travel Notes and Walking Diaries, Wisdom Creation Exercise Method, Prescription Reading Method, Three Books to Create Good Ideas and so on. And "How to Read a Book Effectively-Super-practical Note Reading Method" can also be said to be a concrete and subtle application of the author's information arrangement and wisdom creation method in reading.
How to read a book effectively is to tell how to choose a book purposefully through five parts: book selection, book purchase, reading, recording and flexible use, so as to finish reading a book efficiently among many books.
For readers' better understanding, the author compares this reading process to cooking. First of all, compare choosing books to choosing ingredients; Secondly, buying books is to buy ingredients according to the selected ingredients; Third, reading is to choose vegetables and remove those that are not delicious and don't want to eat; Furthermore, take the record as washing and cutting vegetables, and on the basis of selecting high-quality ingredients, wash them and cut them into their favorite shapes; Finally, cooking, the previous process is finished. You only need to add your favorite seasoning to fry delicious food.
To tell the truth, before reading this book, I had tasted a lot of sweetness in the above methods, because it was with this method that I found reading interesting and enabled my students to keep reading.
When I read this book this time, I felt reunited after a long separation, and I couldn't wait to introduce this interesting reading method to everyone as cooking and eating.
I think many people will list the menu in advance when they have guests to eat at home, so that when they get to the vegetable market, they can buy ingredients according to the menu instead of wandering around the vegetable market.
Then, if you want to make reading interesting, the first thing to do is to choose the "ingredients" that suit your taste, thus stimulating your reading interest.
As for how to choose books, the author told us to prepare a blank sheet of paper and list a list of books on it. It is enough to have the title, author's name and publisher's name in the list, so that whenever you find a book you are interested in, you can list it in the list.
This process is like we suddenly think of a delicious dish, so we don't have to worry about what to eat. We usually record a good book that suddenly comes to mind, guide you to think about why you want to read this book, see your real reading needs clearly, and cultivate your awareness of purposeful reading.
For example, whether in the subway, magazines, book reviews or advertisements, we can record books we are interested in as long as we find them. I especially like looking for books in books. For example, I like Keigo Higashino's books, and in the process of reading, I will recommend similar detective mystery novels, and I will record them quickly. Next time I will buy books directly according to the listed list, and I found that the books I bought did not disappoint me.
We have made a list of food, and it must be very efficient to buy it directly.
But when it comes to buying books, everyone should have this experience. In the bookstore, they were attracted by all kinds of gorgeous book covers and advertisements, and on impulse, they bought books that they didn't understand at all.
Or friends who buy books online, try to sell them. When you choose a good book to pay for, you will often see how much you need to buy another book. Usually, there is not much money added. Most people will choose to add a few dollars to buy it together, but often after buying it, they find that they don't want to see it, so they put it on hold and make it into a chicken rib.
Therefore, it is particularly important to use the book list. Don't let those uninterested books bought for no purpose consume your reading interest repeatedly.
Choosing a dish is to remove the parts that can't be eaten, are not delicious or don't want to eat. So reading is the same. French writer Daniel Pennac mentioned "ten rights of readers" in his book Like a Novel, the first of which is the right not to read, and the second is the right to skip reading.
Both of these rights indicate that we should choose what is useful to us when reading. Writer Yuan Chunyi said in Efficient Reading that people who are not good at reading are often bound by the compulsive concept of "reading from beginning to end", which makes reading painful, "troublesome" and finally "annoying".
Just like we choose dishes, if we don't deal with the dishes we don't want to eat, it will also affect the taste of the fried dishes and make eating painful. Therefore, in a book, you should also choose a place that suits your taste to read. The author of the book said three ways to read a book correctly, that is, how to choose the key method:
① Read through: Fold a valuable page when reading.
(2) Reread: Reread a few pages in one corner, and fold the other corner if it is still valuable.
③ Marking: Re-read the pages folded in the upper and lower corners, and mark them if they are still meaningful after reading for the third time.
Finally, read Mark's content again. If you still feel that you can't give up, write it down in your reading notes.
Different ingredients, we will cut into different shapes. The same is true when we record what we read, so we don't have to extract and extract it in a fixed way. If every book is just copied mechanically, anyone will find reading too boring.
Therefore, this will test our kung fu of "cutting vegetables". Whether the "dish" is cut beautifully or not directly affects the length of time we insist on learning.
The "dish" here refers to reading notes. That is to record the thoughts and feelings generated in the reading process, thus leaving evidence of communication with books.
The method of recording reading notes mentioned in the author's book is particularly interesting and also the highlight of the book.
Method 1: The key to recording reading notes is to keep writing.
When it comes to reading notes, don't be stressed. There is no need to write more. Write simply. Everything is based on "being able to persist". For example, after reading a book, you can directly write the time, title, author's name and feelings. For example, on February 9, 2009, I read How to Read a Book Effectively. This book completely refreshed my previous understanding of reading. So effective reading is like this.
Look, isn't it easy to write like this? In fact, it is not necessarily a molding thing for us to write about our feelings. Let's write a few words "Great!" "What? ! "It's okay, don't demand perfection from the beginning, which will only make it difficult for you to write. So, don't think so much, just keep writing, it will be great!
Method (2): Notes on Scallion Hot Pot.
In the book, author Nobuhiro Ono mentioned that there is another trick to writing reading notes, that is, completely focusing on "things that are important to you". After all, reading is not a Chinese test, so there is no need to think hard about "what the author wants to convey", just pay attention to what he wants to express.
Therefore, reading notes in onion hot pot teach us to extract comments. The first is to extract what is important to you: reread it, mark it with a pen, and strictly screen what is important to you. At the same time, deepen the understanding of the extracted content. The point is to refine the sentences that excite you.
Secondly, write down your own thoughts (comments) on this article: leave a blank at the end of the extracted article and write down your own comments. What you think now is very important. This is also important information for future reference. Maybe it's just a seemingly simple sentence, such as: "This passage is great and makes me very excited now." No matter how humble it is, it should be written down in a down-to-earth manner.
In order to better distinguish excerpts from comments, you can draw "○" in front of excerpts and "∞" in front of comments, which is clear at a glance and more convenient for reading again later.
Method ③: Reading note mode recording method.
Schopenhauer wrote in On Reading: "If you think reading is imitating other people's ideas, it is ideological laziness. Please put aside your books and think for yourself. " So write reading notes, never copy for the sake of copying, and don't just write comments. We can also do more "tricks" with our own ideas in our notes.
For example, I shared how to organize reading notebooks among students' reading punch groups:
? Extract good words and sentences.
? After reading: Write down your feelings after reading an article. You don't need many words, just write your own ideas.
? Write down your happiest thing today: for example, how many lucky money you received.
? Write a little touching today: it is the person who touched you, or a small thing, to make yourself a grateful person.
? Write down the plan for the next day: you can write down the main things to do the next day to avoid forgetting. Check each item after the next day's completion, which will be particularly rewarding.
? Write some reflections or feelings about life: be a reflective person.
? Write interesting things about life: such as where to travel and what food to eat. And learn to record life.
? Post some beautiful pictures: print some beautiful and memorable photos, or post movie tickets for watching movies, or cut out the cover of the book and post it in a notebook.
? Make newspaper clippings and cut out what you think is useful: for example, if you see a book review in the newspaper, we will cut it out and paste it in our notebook, and then write down our feelings below. After a while, we can reread the article and still think it's good. We can go to the bookstore to buy books home, or have new ideas and continue to write feelings below. In this way, the ideas gained in the reading process are the source of thinking.
How's it going? If there are so many interesting contents in your book, do you like them all?
So, if your relationship with books was before when you were studying, please add a third party-notebook from now on. With it, it is called reading, otherwise you will easily forget it.
We have all the ingredients in front of us. I believe that no one will give up frying and just hang it there, right, so it is the same for us to study. Since we have done so much preparatory work, we should take out our "reading notes" and fry them.
Applying what we have learned is our ultimate goal. Reading notes are a sublimation tool. Taking reading notes for a long time will take the initiative to think about the contents of the book, so as to master a book, which will make reading activities complete a leap from mechanical copying to original thinking, and eventually become our own spiritual wealth.
And how to use reading notes flexibly, the author said several uses of reading notes:
Usage ①: Write book reviews with reading notes. For example, in the book review I wrote today, many contents quoted in bold are extracted directly from my reading notes. Some critical sentences are written directly with comments in the notes of the scaly hot pot. In this way, I wrote a book review, most of which was conceived in my reading notes.
Usage ②: Write articles with reading notes. Good notes are an important basis for writing a good article. Generally, I will call the way of taking notes a material library. And I find that in most good articles, the sentences in an article are quoted from time to time. For example, the author of this book also said: "Reference is a magic wand". Quoting an article can not only increase persuasiveness, but also make it easier to stop writing and write more smoothly.
Usage ③: Use reading notes to stimulate creativity. James webb young, an American advertising master, said in his book The Generation of Creativity: "The so-called creativity is just to recombine the original elements." Almost all our reading notes are the essence recorded in the book, and many of them are recorded by sudden inspiration. So when there is no creativity, take it out and read it a few times, find relevant information to compare and reorganize, and creativity will come.
How to read a book effectively is actually a way to tell us how to cook a good dish. From choosing ingredients (choosing books), to buying ingredients (buying books), to processing ingredients (reading books), to washing and cutting vegetables (taking notes), and finally to cooking (using flexibly), in fact, in the final analysis, all our previous steps are to prepare for cooking, that is, to learn to use the books we have read flexibly for our own use, so as to understand a book.
So, if you want to keep reading, remember what's inside, and remember that when you study on the premise of thinking output, the quality of thinking input will also be improved.
