Yangquan Sports School was founded in 1958, formerly known as Yangquan Youth Sports School, and was formally established with the approval of Shanxi Provincial People's Government in 1994. It is the only sports secondary specialized school in the city, which is located in the sports center that Yijing is about to complete. Yangquan Sports School is the only full-time secondary sports professional school in Yangquan that integrates teaching, training, sports research and youth sports training. Yangquan Sports School is the training base and sports research base for outstanding athletes in the city. It is one of the national youth archery training bases deployed by the State Sports General Administration.
