Acupoint massage is one of the traditional Chinese medicine therapies. The human body has twelve meridians and more than 360 acupoints. When we press specific acupoints, it will promote the dredging of meridians, stimulate nerve conduction, and make lymph and qi and blood circulation smooth, thus improving the physiological functions of related parts and achieving the effect of detoxification and slimming!
How do you know you found the acupoint?
Many people find it difficult to find acupoints. In fact, as long as you calm down and press it according to the position of the acupoint, you will have the following two feelings, indicating that you have found the acupoint.
1. numbness: when we press the acupoint, we will have a slight numbness.
2. Cavity feeling: You can feel a small cavity by pressing the position of the acupoint.
How to measure the position of acupoints?
Acupoint books often use "inch" as the unit of measurement when teaching us to find acupoints, which refers to the relative proportion of our own bodies. Everyone is different. The measurement method is to use "finger" as a comparison tool, so that we can measure the position conveniently!
One inch: the width of thumb joint;
One and a half inches: the width of the knuckle at the junction of the index finger and the middle finger;
Two inches: the width of the knuckles where the index finger, middle finger and ring finger are combined;
Three inches: the width of the knuckles where the index finger, middle finger, ring finger and little finger are combined;
How to massage acupoints correctly?
Basic massage technique
Pressing: at the fingertips, or at the joints of the index finger and middle finger, press the acupoints hard; Large areas (such as abdomen and legs) can also be pressed with the palm of your hand;
Rub: rub with fingers or palms on the surface of a specific part of the body in a slightly larger range;
Push: Push with fingers or palms on acupoints in a straight line or in an arc direction;
Kneading: Press the acupoints with your fingers or palms, and gently knead them in circles.
Frequency of Pressing Acupoints and Breathing Methods
1. Keep pressing for 5- 10 seconds, and exhale when pressing;
2. Slowly relax and cooperate with inhalation;
3. Rest for 2-5 seconds, and then press repeatedly;
4. Repeat 5- 10 times each time, once in the morning and once in the evening. Perseverance will definitely see the effect.
Is there any taboo in pressing acupoints?
Of course there is! If there are the following situations, it is best to avoid massaging acupoints to avoid adverse effects.
Pregnant women: carelessness may affect the health of mother and fetus;
Physiological period: some acupoints will affect the flow of menstrual blood;
Baby under one year old: the baby is still very fragile, but after one year old, you can consult a doctor about the method of massaging your child;
Empty stomach, just full, poor mental state: it is best to massage one hour after a meal when you are full of energy;
Physical trauma: improper pressing may lead to bleeding;
Patients with severe heart disease, lung disease, diabetes and dermatosis;
In order to avoid affecting the body function, it is best not to press acupuncture points at will.
General acupoints for body shaping:
Hegu
Location: the depression between thumb and forefinger. Take points from the back of your hand.
Efficacy: promote systemic blood circulation, refresh the mind, and improve symptoms such as dizziness and headache.
Face-lifting acupoints:
Silk white
Location: a depression at the intersection of the center of the eye extending downward and the center of the nose extending sideways.

Yingxiang
Location: On both sides of the alar.
