Many newcomers grind the blade perpendicular to the grindstone, but they don't know that this will cause the blade to curl. This method will slip out of the groove mark on the grindstone and shorten the life of the grindstone and tools.
Countermeasure: diagonal sharpening method
No matter whether it is vertical grinding or horizontal grinding, it should be ground diagonally, so that the cutter can contact the grindstone evenly when grinding back and forth, and avoid the phenomenon of curling and surface damage of the grindstone.
2. Push pull error
When sharpening a knife, pushing forward is as fast and powerful as pulling back, and the newly sharpened blade will be pushed forward forcefully, resulting in the passivation of the blade.
Countermeasures:
When sharpening a knife, you must gently push and pull it again, because pushing forward is choking the blade, but pulling along it, so you should pull hard when pulling back, so as to sharpen the blade and avoid damage to it. Remember, when pushing forward, the force should be small and the speed should be slow, so as not to wear the blade.
3. Wrong location
Standing in a straight line with your legs, you can't spend all your strength on the broach. It is easy to get tired when sharpening the knife for a long time.
Countermeasures:
Stand on the I-shaped leg and press the body weight on the front leg, so that the body weight will be transferred to the sharpening, which is labor-saving and effective.
4. Wrong tilt angle
The angle between the knife and the grindstone is too large, which can sharpen the knife in a short time, but it is easy to cause thick knife marks on both sides, and the knife marks will be passivated after short-time cutting and matching.
Countermeasures:
The included angle between the knife and the grindstone should be kept below 5 degrees, so as to increase the contact surface between the knife and the grindstone and make both sides of the knife mark thinner. The thinner the two sides of the knife mark, the faster the blade and the best cutting effect.
5. Wrong technology
When sharpening a knife, hold the knife surface with your hands, so that you can't exert force evenly, which is easy to cause the knife marks on both sides to be different in thickness, and it is also easy to cause finger injuries.
Countermeasures:
Hold the back of the knife with your right hand, hold the blade with your thumb and forefinger with your left hand, and gently push and pull it obliquely, with the same number of times on both sides.
