Chenggong Campus of our school is located in Yuhua District (University Park) in the southeast of Chenggong New Town in Kunming, with the Second Ring Road in the west and the Third Ring Road passing through the campus. Longtan Mountain in the east, Yunnan Railway in the north and Chenggong New Campus of Kunming University of Science and Technology in the south. It is 0/5km away from the main city of Kunming/KLOC-0, and connects other university campuses in the area and the main road of Luo Kun Road through the Second Ring Road and the Third Ring Road. Kunyu Highway can reach Kunming, and the planned Kunming urban light rail and the railway hub stations around Yunnan have convenient transportation.

With the great attention of leaders at all levels, in May 2005, our school officially started planning and constructing Chenggong Campus in Chenggong New Town, Kunming. After investigation and screening, the bidding meeting for the master plan of Chenggong Campus was officially held on May 1 1 2005, and four domestic design units with great influence in the field of campus planning were invited to participate. On July 3, 2005, KLOC-0, Tongji University Architectural Design Institute was selected by the expert group and evaluated by the teachers and students of the whole school, and undertook the task of detailed planning for construction.

Chenggong Campus is planned and designed by Wang Wensheng, Dean of Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University. The first phase of the campus covers an area of 2,000 mu with a planned construction area of 690,000 square meters. The land for the second phase is 1 1,000 mu, and the planned construction area is 300,000 square meters. The design focuses on the following concepts:

A. Compound campus: a walkable campus with life, teaching, physical education and other disciplines as the main body and different disciplines organically combined.

B. Sustainable campus: a healthy green campus with the main goal of saving energy and land.

C. Open campus: a campus dedicated to improving the urban environment, containing multiple open spaces and integrating with the city.

D. Humanistic campus: Take the excellent historical and cultural traditions of The National SouthWest Associated University and Yunnan Normal University as the main line of campus spirit.

E. Garden campus: It embodies the unique ideas of flowers, countryside and mountains and rivers in Chenggong New Town.
