The world map movement is related to exploration.
This update, the production team brought the big map movement in the game. Because it is a horizontal axis RPG, large map movement is generally the main way for players to switch between different scenes.
The world map action of Wasteland 2 still adopts the traditional big map mode.
At the same time, it is divided into two types: 3D map and 2D map.
The picture above is a big 3D picture. If you have played horse riding and chopping, or players in neverwinter nights 2 should be familiar with this world map movement mode.
And this battle is the abbreviation after the 2D map movement, which is similar to the mobile mode of Radiation 1, radiation 2 and Radiation Strategy Edition.

When you explore on the map, you will find three main exploration objects, namely "settlement", "site" and "resources". Settlements are the main locations, such as the Ranger Castle and the agricultural center. Ruins are secondary sites, including some unmanned mines and checkpoints on expressway. Resource points include oases to replenish water resources and storage points for materials, weapons and ammunition stored by waste travelers. It can be said that exploration is your main activity on the map, but you should pay more attention to survival.

1. Died of dehydration:
It is very important and challenging to arrange your water resources reasonably on the wasteland. The supply of drinking water depends on the number of your team and the number of kettles. According to different topography, the consumption rate of water resources is different, and the water consumption in desert area is the largest, while grassland and high principle do not need so much.
When you have no water resources on the map, you won't die directly, but over time, your players will be dehydrated and injured. If you can't find water all the time, you will still die. Your field survival skills determine the speed at which your team consumes water, and also determine the time from lack of water to dehydration injury.
When traveling on a big map, you can find an oasis. The higher your field survival skill level, the farther you can find it (if a team's field survival level is too low, it is likely to pass by the oasis unconsciously). Like rain and ruins, it will be marked on your map. Of course, there are some other water sources in the main areas. If the area is friendly, you can use it at will. If the location of the water source is neutral or hostile, then you may have to do a task or do something. Once these water sources are available, they will always be used free of charge. Always pay attention to your Geiger counter. The deadly radiation clouds left by the war spread all over the southwestern United States. Your Geiger counter will measure the radiation level of your surroundings in SV.
You will encounter different levels of radiation in the game. Low-level radiation will not cause you any harm, but it reminds you that there may be higher-level radiation areas around you. Starting with the radiation measured at 500 millisieverts, you will be hurt, and a higher level of radiation may even kill you directly. Apart from these extremely high radiation, you will not be directly killed by radiation, but the damage caused by too much radiation is far more serious than dehydration, so it is recommended that players remember to save a file when exploring distant unknown areas.
Equipping players with radiation protection suits can make them live in a certain level of radiation environment, and with the progress of the game, they can upgrade more advanced radiation protection suits to deal with more advanced radiation areas. But remember, there are still many areas on the waste soil that will be fatal even if you wear radiation protection clothes.

Random encounter system will make you encounter all kinds of dangerous animals, mutant creatures, gangsters and robots in the wasteland. The trigger probability depends on the type of area and the risk level of the area. There are some particularly dangerous enemies in some special areas on the wasteland, where you have a great chance to meet advanced enemies, and there is no "difficulty setting according to different levels of players". When you trigger a random encounter, you will have the options of fighting and fleeing. The success rate of escape depends on your luck, speed and, of course, your ability to survive in the wild. In addition, depending on your skill or attribute level, your team may be in a favorable position at the beginning of the battle, and of course the enemy may also occupy favorable terrain. The random encounter area is consistent with your terrain, so there are several different encounter arrangements for each different terrain. In most cases, you will encounter one to six enemies, but the number of enemies does not mean difficulty. Six mutant flies may be a piece of cake for you, but a leaf-rolling robot can easily annihilate you! (Not to mention large mechanical scorpions)
Skills and attributes
Your commandos have many different skills and attributes to face danger.
When traveling in a big map, field survival skills should be the most important. It determines your water consumption, the moving distance you can survive during dehydration, the distance you can find a new place, the starting position of random encounter, the success rate of escape and so on. Although survival in the wild is an important skill in travel, you can also find skills applications in other parts of the game.
Luck is the second most important attribute, which determines what and how many resources you can get by searching on the wasteland and the success rate of escape. Many specific resource points and special events on the map can only be obtained if you are lucky enough.
As mentioned above, speed is also related to your escape success rate, but besides these, there are other skills and attributes that will also affect your travel.

In the game settings, there will be the adjustment of the difficulty of traveling in the wild, the control of the difficulty level of the whole game map, and the tips and guidance on the HUD and the map. Under the simple difficulty, you can explore the wasteland at will, but under the difficult difficulty, just drinking water is enough to make you nervous.
