At present, there are many articles about XP startup acceleration on the Internet, but few are really useful, and some even mislead readers. I am an XP user myself, and I am deeply touched by XP startup acceleration. I read countless optimization articles, installed XP n times, took many detours, but finally summed up the experience that can really optimize XP startup.
My computer configuration is not very good. After installing XP or 2003, the startup time is long, and the scroll bar has to turn 10 times or more. After optimization, the startup time is obviously accelerated, and the scroll bar turns 10 many times, so I can't wait to open the system. The following details tell you how to effectively accelerate the startup.
First, open the advanced tab of system properties (right-click My Computer-Properties, or open the system in the control panel, and press the shortcut key win+ pause break), open the settings of startup and recovery area, and remove the two √ in the system startup area. If it is a multi-system user, set aside time to display the operating system list. Click "Edit" to confirm that the additional attribute of the startup item is /fastdetect instead of nodetect. Don't add the /noguiboot attribute for the time being, because guiboot will be used later.
The next step is crucial. Open the hardware tab in the system properties, open the device manager, expand the IDE ATA/ ATAPI controller, double-click to open the auxiliary IDE channel properties, and click the Advanced Settings tab to change the transmission mode of the devices 1 and 2 to DMA. If available, select None as the device type.
Open the registry (Start-Run -regedit), click My Computer to open search in the edit menu, enter AutoEndTasks, and click Find Next. Double-click to open the found results, and change the "Numerical Data" to 1. Then you can find HungAppTimeout and WaitToKillAppTimeout under AutoEndTasks, and set "numerical data" below 2000. By the way, you can also modify the menu delay time here and find MenuShowDelay under AutoEndTasks. This value is in milliseconds, and if you want to cancel the menu delay, you can set it to 0.
After the modification is completed, click the "Edit" menu to open "Find Next" (shortcut key F3) and install all the results found in the previous method.
Now that the acceleration of power-on and power-off has been completed, restart the computer and feel the feeling of extremely fast startup. Is it OK to turn the scroll bar only once or twice?
After enjoying the fast restart, we will further speed up the startup, open the settings of system properties-advanced-startup and recovery, open the editor in the "system startup" area, and add /noguiboot after fastdetect, so that the scroll bar will not be displayed when starting. If you like the display of this scroll bar very much, you don't have to do this step.
