Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics will be held in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou, in which Beijing will undertake all ice events. There are 39 competition venues, including 12 competition venues, 3 training venues and 24 non-competition venues. Of the 12 competition venues, 7 were newly built.
All the newly-built Winter Olympics venues in Beijing have reached the highest level of green Samsung standards, and the reconstructed venues have reached the green building standards. From the bid to the organization, green, ecological, low-carbon and sustainable have always been the core concepts of Beijing Winter Olympics venue construction.
Newly built venues in Zhangjiakou Division of Beijing Winter Olympics
There are three new competition venues in Zhangjiakou Division, namely the National Platform Skiing Center, the National Cross-country Skiing Center and the National Biathlon Center.
The shape of the National Ski Center is very similar to that of China, so it is affectionately known as "the snow is pleasant". It is the largest and most technically difficult competition venue in Zhangjiakou Division. During the competition, I will take part in ski jumping and nordic combined.
The track length of the National Cross-country Skiing Center is 9.7 kilometers. During the Winter Olympics, all 12 gold medals in cross-country skiing competitions will be produced in this venue. After the Winter Olympics, the National Cross-country Skiing Center plans to become a "mountain park" and an "outdoor ice entertainment center".
The National Biathlon Center, with a total length of 8.7 kilometers, is built along the natural terrain of the mountain. It is divided into main competition runway, paralympic sitting runway and training runway. The venue will host 1 1 biathlon of the Winter Olympics. After the Winter Olympics, it is planned to build training, ice and snow experience and entertainment projects as a heritage while meeting the needs of national sports special training and events.
