Gui Hu

Gui Hu Garden is located in Xindu District, north of Chengdu, Sichuan, China. It is one of the representative works of western Sichuan gardens, and it is also the only garden in China that preserves the remains of Sui and Tang gardens. Sheng 'an Gui Hu borrowed soil here to build the wall of Xindu County in Sui Dynasty, forming lakes and marshes. Therefore, it is located in the south of the county government, and there is a post pavilion, hence the name "Nanting". In the early Tang Dynasty, under the management of scholars such as Lu and other scholars, Nanting gradually developed into an official garden affiliated to the post office. Yang Shen, a famous scholar in Ming Dynasty, planted osmanthus trees all over the lake when he lived in Xindu, hence the name "Gui Hu", which evolved into a public memorial garden to commemorate Yang Sheng 'an in Qing Dynasty. Influenced by it, osmanthus fragrans has become a common practice in Xindu. Around the Mid-Autumn Festival every year, osmanthus fragrans is fragrant, and tourists come to the lake to enjoy osmanthus fragrans in an endless stream, forming the annual osmanthus festival.
