Liangyuan district is a municipal district of Shangqiu City, Henan Province, which is located in the north of Shangqiu City Center, south bank of Laohuang River, at the junction of Henan and Shandong provinces, bordering Suiyang District in the south, Shangqiu New District and Yucheng County in the east, Minquan County and Ningling County in the west, and Heze City in Shandong Province in the north. As of 20 17, the whole district governs 16 streets (townships) with a total area of 542 square kilometers and a total population of 496,000 (excluding Shangqiu New District).
Liangyuan district is the economic, cultural, transportation and information center of Shangqiu, and also the regional trade and logistics center in the border areas of Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. National transportation trunk lines such as Longhai Railway, Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Zhengzhou-Xuzhou High-speed Railway, Shanghai-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, Beijing-Kowloon High-speed Railway, Lianhuo Expressway, Jiguang Expressway, 105 National Highway and 3 10 National Highway run through the whole territory, and China Shangqiu Guantang Airport will be opened soon.
Liangyuan district, the birthplace of Taoist master Zhuangzi, was named after the Liang Garden built by Liang Xiaowang Liuwu, a Liang State in the Western Han Dynasty. Liangyuan district is the birthplace of Han Liang culture and Han Fu. Sima Xiangru concentrated Liangyuan literature in liangyuan district, and Li Bai left a classic poem Song of Liangyuan in liangyuan district. There are nine surnames in the area: Sanlingtai Platform, Song, Dai, the ancestral home of Niu, Mengxian Ancient City, Zhuangzi's hometown, Temple, Kannonji, a holy place of Buddhism. Chairman Mao inspected the Huangjia Memorial Hall, the strawberry garden in Shuangba Town, Shangqiu People's Park, the National Forest Park of the Old Yellow River and other scenic spots.
